JAYME LANEY
As a student at Reinhardt College, I met Mr. Ron Cooper. Mr. Cooper is a potter in Canton, GA. It was in his class that I was introduced to wheel thrown pottery. I knew then I would do pottery for the rest of my life. I was hooked.
Later I studied Ceramics under the direction of Tim Taunton at LaGrange College.
Tim Taunton is a figurative sculptor; but, he taught me how to make wheel thrown functional pottery. Some kiln firings included oxidation, gas reduction, and Raku firings.
I now live in Adairsville, Georgia with my beautiful wife and our two adorable children.
When I’m not out in my studio playing with clay, or selling my pottery (including my apple bakers) at arts and crafts festivals across the state, I teach art to kids in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade at White Elementary School (where I have worked since 1994).
My long history of schooling:
- Master's Degree from Lesley University
- Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts (Ceramics) from LaGrange College
- Associate's Degree in Art from Reinhardt College
- Education Degree from Kennesaw State University
I hope you enjoy my work. If you have any questions or are interested in having me customize a piece of pottery to your specifications, please use the Contact Form on my website - http://laneypottery.com/Contact-Us/ - to send me a quick email.
Thanks!
