Bio
Stone Lotus Pottery is a mother and daughter team creating ceramic art. It began with my mother's decision to take a pottery class several years ago. She's always been an artist at heart, but pottery proved to be the perfect medium for her. It was a hobby that enabled her to work with her hands and we both quickly fell in love with the organic elegance of her designs.
As her daughter, I often asked her for custom orders for birthday and Christmas gifts. That eventually led to opening a shop on Etsy so we can share her art with more people. Our designs feature traditional ceramics in the form of bowls, plates, vases, and coasters, and also ceramic jewelry.
The beauty of ceramics is that no two pieces are ever the same. Each piece is unique. Your piece will be one of a kind and a true work of art. Glaze transforms intricate carvings in unexpected ways as its fired in the kiln. We have the unique privilege of using a gas fired kiln that creates vibrant colors not capable at lower temperatures. Our red glazes are a great example of this.
We handcraft each piece from a variety of clays. Each is hand glazed, fired, and then hand assembled into beautiful wearable art. The bowls, plates, and vessels are either wheel thrown or hand constructed. Each piece is unique. We are always trying new designs, patterns, and materials striving to create beautiful art.
