About The Sparrow's Nest....

I'm Mai McKemy (first name pronounced May, like the month), the artist behind the designs at The Sparrow’s Nest. I studied art at Appalachian State University in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. The mountains provide plenty of inspiration for creating woodland themed jewelry and accessories. I enjoy working in different styles, while taking a fresh look at the potential of polymer clay. My process for my polymer clay creations involves a mix of hand-shaping and constructing, as well as mold/casting techniques. I love to experiment with various surface treatment techniques and nature-inspired textures.
