Bio

My interest in jewelry began when I was really young. My Grandpa had this mound of dirt in his backyard that he was using for landscaping. I began exploring this mountain and discovered that it was full of rocks. I started collecting all of the beautiful stones and imagined turning them into jewelry. One of my friends was also intrigued by these little treasures, so we began planning our own jewelry business. We bought rock tumblers and visited a local jeweler to see what it would be like when we were all grown up.

My passion for creation has never ended, although it has taken many forms through the years. I eventually grew up and went to college where I studied Fine Art. I started my studies making sculptures out of steel, iron, glass and wood. It was during this time that I took a jewelry design class. I learned how to solder and work with softer metals than iron and steel like silver and copper. I really enjoyed working with metal on a much smaller and easier scale. I knew then that sculpture may not be my thing, so I refocused everything and began studying photography. I ended my degree with my emphasis in photography.

I have dabbled in many other creative mediums since then including silkscreen, painting, and book making, but I always come back to jewelry. So now after many many years since I discovered all of those rocks in my Grandpa's back yard I am beginning my own jewelry business. I am finally exploring this obsession and all of its possibilities. I want to use all of my creative experience and see where it takes me. I don't know how this will evolve, so come back and visit often to see where I am going.
