Hi, I'm Shirl, hubby and I found that we work together as a good team to create art. I have not only carpal tunnel but I also have arthritis and problems and pain in my hands because of a problem in my spine. Hubby is there for me to open bottles of paint, glue, or what ever I can't open myself. He cuts, drills, sands and assists me when my hands just don't want to work for me. My paintings and art are just a hobby that makes me smile. I can't help but smile when I see my pretty little girls and boys develop their own personalities as I paint them!

My love for art started when I was just a child. As I grew older I learned several different crafts and have always loved to create things. I loved to sew, crochet, create pictures with counted cross stitch and my most recent love was paper crafts such as cards and ATC's. I'm no longer able to crochet or do counted cross stitch because I have problems with my hands. I can't do as much hand sewing as I would like to do as it is very hard to thread a needle and some days I can't even hold the needle. I spent a little over a year creating ATC's. Then one day I looked at some paints that I bought because I wanted to learn to pant and decided that it was time to learn to use the paints. I started with creating an art journal. I searched the Internet for ideas and techniques. In this search I discovered a very open and sharing person, Suzi Blu. Suzi was creating art in videos! She actually shared techniques! This loving woman didn't seem to be concerned at all if others learned her techniques... (She just wanted to share her love and help others to become more self confident. I bought her first kit and learned a lot from the wonderful instructions she wrote. I then joined Suzi's first class. Not only did I learn how to make pretty little girls but Suzi also included a class to help build self confidence. I love creating art using multimedia. My paintings are on either watercolor paper or wood. My little ones are known for their big eyes and sweet face. While I am very happy to create a picture of you or your loved ones understand that all my girls or boys look basically the same. I will not take on commission paintings as I can't guarantee when I can get a painting done. There are days that I just can't hold the paint brush but if you contact me I will create a painting with you in mind. If you like it then of course you will have the first chance to buy it through etsy (I will inform you when I am ready to post it for sale and give you a chance to buy it before anyone else sees it.) I will of course use your choice of hair color or pets. In your special world you can be a fairy princess, a mermaid, a rock star or anything else your heart desires. I will also include any special words, sayings, or poems that you choose. (any sayings or quotes must include authors name if it is not your own words. You will be responsible for any copyright issues that arise from your requests to personalize your art)

I only have so many walls in my home so I'm offering my art to you. I hope that you will enjoy my art as much as I do. I'm not asking much for my paintings as I just want to be able to replace the supplies that I use. I want to share my smiles with you!
