Welcome to etsy!
My name is Marcela and I love making jewelry. I especially like working with copper and turquoise, but I can't help to use all kinds of different beads and metals when I find them so pretty. I like to be inspired by nature, antique jewelry and the rustic look of ancient jewelry.

I also have interviewed myself with the etsy questions, just in case some day I'm in the FP.

Tell us a bit about yourself name, location, affiliations, personal stuff.
My name is Marcela and I live in Upstate New York in the middle of the beautiful Adirondacks, where there's only two seasons: winter and 4th of July.
I live with my husband and 3 year old daughter who also makes beautiful jewelry.

Apart from creating things, what do you do?
Not much to do around here except to contemplate the beautiful mountains and go for walks. But I manage to indulge in my other hobbies like knitting, sewing, and scrapbooking. But most of my time I spend it with my daughter who is so much fun to be with.

What first made you want to become an artist?
Artist?? no, I just love making things and I always loved jewelry.

Please describe your creative process how, when, materials, etc.
Starts with the computer and ends with the computer. I love to shop for beads online, my husband calls me a professional bead shopper so I get inspired in part by the colors and shapes of them. Then usually work on something new after my daughter goes to bed and have some time for myself and from then I just let it flow.

What handmade possession do you most cherish?
I try not to get attached to material objects or subjects but I do like a pendant that my dad made for me from one of his coin collection. It's a 1700s handmade colonial era silver coin or "Macuquina".

What advice would you give to artists who are new to Etsy?
Take awesome pictures and do the best you can.

What are your favorite features on Etsy? What new features would you like to see?
I like see even more recent items and the time machine.
I would like it if listing an item was done in fewer pages.

How do you promote your work?
I don't. Sometimes I update my blog and also my sister has a blog that has an ad.
In ten years I'd like to be...
Living in a farm in New Zealand.
