I am The Bohemian Goddess, owner of Bohemian Elegance.com...
Creating unique wearable art from vintage clothing is one of my passions. Each season's collection is filled with exquisite Fairy costumes and now my new line of Victorian Steampunk costumes and accessories, as well as the return of my custom Corpse Bride gowns.

This is what I love to do best and what is most exhausting! It's not the long hours of gathering, dying and assembling the pixie and Fairy costumes... it's the Fairies! Vain and impatient they all want me to work on their costume first! No I don't make costumes for fairies... they design them for me and I just create them in this dimension.

I am a purveyor of all things Gypsy and Bohemian because we are Bohemian Gypsies! As the Bohemian Goddess I am also the creator of Gypsy's Jewels®, which are enchanted wearable art charm bracelets.

Normal costume designers go out and buy fabric when they need it. That's against my rules. Only about 2% of my supplies are new. My art has always been based on re-creating new out of the old and forgotten. (I was dragging Persian rugs out of the dump 35 years ago!)

There I was last week sorting my parts when I realized the 'I can let this go' pile was pitifully small and I hadn't made any more room to work. So I took a break and was poking around the refrigerator when it occurred to me that I should create the way I eat! I am a serious A La Carte-tian. A card carrying member of the Mrs. Fleck, appetizers are the way to eat, club. (Cher in Mermaids) It just makes sense. How many times have I had to alter part of a costume to make it right for my buyer? Too many times! It's a stroke of brilliance, I tell ya!

My costumes will now be sold A La Carte. It will take me a few weeks to redo my listings but from now on all the parts are sold alone or as the French say A La Carte. The client can mix and match as they wish. This gives them the freedom to buy the bodice from say my Violetta Fairy and put it with the skirt from my Gothic Fairy. Furthermore, they will be able to buy the part they want from me and get the rest of their costume pieces from other Etsy designers.
