Bio

Hey You. My name is Rebecca Sefcovic Uglem. I got the name becka boo from my papa when I was a little girl. I am not sure when he started calling me that but the name has stuck with me. I ended up in Grand Forks, ND in 1998 to attend the University of North Dakota. I studied Fine Art and Communications. Printmaking was my passion. I had a love affair with those screens... the graphic images... the smell of the ink...ahahah... anyway. When I finished, I thought lets spend more money on education, so I continued at UND to get my Masters in Fine Art. Again printmaking baby! But this time I wanted to do it in alternate ways. After graduating, what does one do in Grand Forks, ND with a MFA in art?(my hubby has an established business, so we couldn't just up and move) There were no jobs, so Amy Lyste (amyjoshandmade.etsy) and I started a Non-Profit Art Gallery called Third Street Gallery. Which is now located on Kittson Ave(goes to show, choose a more neutral name). Amy and I spend our days at the gallery with our little volunteers, Lola (mine,6 months) and Emma (Amy's, 1 year). When I am not selling other peoples art, changing poop, or washing the ever pilling laundry....I am making little treasures. My baby items can be found at beckaboo.etsy.com, and my love of vintage and eco-friendly products have found their way to this new shop. So that is my life in a bio box. Hope you enjoyed reading.
