alexandrasjewelry's Profile

Bio

I started making jewelry in 1995. My husband wanted some beadwork done for a re-enactment group he belonged to. I couldn't see spending the money to buy it so I set out to try and make my own. Who would have thought that would have resulted in the journey I've been on? One thing led to another and I couldn't get enough. I've tried many styles of jewelry over the years from loom work, to stringing, to PMC, to my most recent love, wire sculpture. I attended William Holland Lapidary School for the first time in 2006 and came back with a lot of new knowledge and a desire to never leave my design studio. I attend 1 class a year now and think I will for years to come. 2008's class is silver connections so expect to see me dabbling in the world of silversmithing.
I'm the mother of a beautiful 5 year old daughter named Alexandra, hence the name of my business. I lovingly call this business her college fund. I would love it if it turned into so much more.
I hope you enjoy looking at my work. Please feel free to send me adjustments to pieces or any commissioned work you might be looking for. I look forward to any challenge sent my way.
Sincerely,
Winnie
