Bio

I'm a mixed media artist working out of Denver, Colorado. When I'm not working in my art studio, I'm studying, hiking, riding one of my bikes or playing the piano. I recently returned to school to study Ecology after a 15 year accidental stint in the corporate world and spend my free time in the field doing plant surveys when I'm not in class or my art studio.

My concern for the environment and our increasing loss of species influences a lot of my work. I also derive ideas from my opposing love of cities and the quirkiness found in them. I've also done a considerable amount of traveling, having lived in places such as Antarctica, the Marshall Islands and Alaska. My experiences around the world also heavily influence my work, particularly in the colors and textures of my pieces.

Recently, I've begun a new 'Blockhead' series of animals, which includes birds and penguins to date (more animals to come...), which I had intended to be for children. With 14 nieces and nephews I wanted to create a series of art pieces that kids could relate to.
