Bio

Knitgrrl Studio is the fiber workshop, online shop and retail space of designer and author Shannon Okey, who has written more than 10 major-publisher knitting and crafts books, including Knitgrrl, Knitgrrl 2, Spin to Knit, Felt Frenzy, AlterNation, Alt Fiber, and The Pillow Book.

She first began selling online in 2003 as the proprietor of anezka handmade, among the first multi-artisan shopping sites (think proto-Etsy!), and opened her first brick and mortar store in 2007.

She is currently the editor of UK-based monthly knitting magazine Yarn Forward, has written a column for knit.1 magazine, and contributed to many other magazines, including Spin Off, Knitscene, Yarn Market News, CRAFT, Adorn, Sew Hip and more.
