Hello and welcome! I am truly, TRULY glad you stopped into my little corner of the world! I am Leslie Gidden, registered nurse, mom and wife by day.....jewelry designer and artist by night......and naps!
I come from a very talented and artistic family so there has never been a shortage of some "crafting" or creating going on. I have to keep my hands and brain busy. I do this by reading..... A LOT! and creating and designing with just about any media you can name. I am addicted to the creative process and making anything with my hands. Jewelry design and construction is my passion. It is a true labor of love.
I also love making anything that puts a huge grin on my daughters sweet face. But, she is biased, and thinks anything mommy makes is "bee-u-tee-ful"!
I am a self-proclaim "Bead Snob". My snobbery started long before I was asked to sell my own work. I started making jewelry for myself in 1999 while in nursing school and I would only buy myself the BEST materials seeing as it was for myself and that I was only making one design......so I could be snobby. But, alas, I can not seem to change my ways! Only the best will do! I just love the beauty and quality in the really good materials!
I get my inspiration from MANY places. Daily life being the biggest, reading, other artists, different medias, my daughter, friends and family, the beautiful Southeast Missouri scenery.....so so many places!
Some of my favorite suppliers create BEAUTIFUL handmade glass beads using a torch and glass canes in various colors. From others I find carved bone and stone pendants to use as stunning focal pieces for unique designs with an elegant look.
Much of my jewelry is either one-of-a-kind pieces or limited editions. Please contact me if you have a specific idea in mind, I may have exactly what you desire.
