Bio

Cynthia Gorman currently offers two collections of unique, handcrafted jewelry:

Handcrafted Enamel Collection:
-------------------------------------------
Each enameled piece is made by fusing glass to copper. Delicate lines are formed out of fine silver and sunk into the glass. Colored glass is wet packed in multiple layers. Each piece is fired in a kiln at least 6 times at temperatures of 1400-1500 degrees Fahrenheit. To complete the enameling process, each piece is hand ground flat using an alundum stone and then flash-fired to bring out the beautiful glowing glass finish.

I then fabricate the settings in sterling silver with a fine silver bezel. All findings including the earring wires and clasp are handmade. I pride myself in excellent craft and precision.

Plain Jane Collection:
-------------------------------------------
Each piece of Plain Jane Jewelry is handcrafted from precious metal by Cynthia Gorman. Many traditional metalsmithing techniques are used. Rich textures are hammered onto the raw metal. Shapes are cut with a jewelers saw and filed. Components are soldered together. Every piece of Plain Jane Jewelry is made to the highest quality and is designed to be comfortable and classy.
