Hi! I'm a self-employed artist in Lawrence, KS, where I have a small business called Bonkers Handmade Originals. I do a lot of different things-- I dye spinning fibers and yarns, create an artzine called Tub Legs, design knit/crochet ware for yarn companies & magazines, have a small line of art rubber stamps, am a visual journaler, book maker, and photographer--mainly toy cameras and pinholes. My favorite cameras are polaroids and my jamcam. But I have quite a collection of different cameras and am enamored with which ever one I'm using at the time. My newest fun is making buttons and magnets. I also travel around teaching workshops in spinning, knitting, dyeing, photography and book arts, and mixed-media.

Making art is just as important to me as breathing. I am happiest when I am making things.

My knitting & crochet designs have graced the covers and insides of various magazines, books and pattern booklets such as "Knitters", "Knit.1" and some others I'm not remembering right now. I was one of the featured hand-dyers & designers in "Handpaint Country", and a hat designed for Tahki Yarns was on the cover of their accessories booklet. I also was the editor for the book "Spin It: Making Yarn from Scratch".

As far as mixed-media goes, I've had my work in "The Decorated Journal" by Gwen Diehn, "The Complete Guide to Altered Imagery" by Karen Michel, "Beyond Paper Dolls" by Lynne Perrella, "Artist Trading Card Workshop" by Bernie Berlin, and "Kaleidoscope: Ideas And Projects to Spark Your Creativity" by Suzanne Simanaitis.

Along with Tub Legs, I also put together a how-to photography booklet on alternative photography with several kinds of polaroid cameras and also how to turn them into pinhole cameras.
