We are 2 cousins who started Baba's 2nd, our small design company in New York City. Fela loves to work with paper - designing cards, invitations and stationery. Nepreil is a designer and seamstress extraordinaire (she obviously inherited all the sewing genes from our Grandma).

Personally, we listen to lots of jazz vocalists, love weekly shopping at the Park Slope Food Co-op, Fela's 13-year old puppy Uma, watching English tv (everything from Masterpiece Theater to Coupling to Bleak House..."Rent!"), dancing salsa and samba and making fantastic things with our hands while listening to This American Life.

Also exciting, Fela has been volunteering at the oldest stationer/letterpress shop in NYC and was just offered a position at the company. We see letterpress in our future (the great Kazoo told us so).

In 2007, we formally started PAPEL, our line of handmade limited edition cards and stationery. We also make the SHOE-IN, a fantastic couture shoebag that features a divider (to keep your shoes separate but equal). Our products are designed for the modern traveler - you know the person who is traveling by subway, bike, skateboard, car or jet plane.

Use our shoebags to protect your hardest working friends - your shoes! All of our cards and bags are handmade in our little Brooklyn studio.

SHIPPING
Most orders leave our studio within 1-2 days. Couture SHOE-IN shoebag is made to order, so that ships in 1 week (7 days). We like to ship via the USPS with delivery confirmation, if possible. Please let us know if you'd like us to gift wrap your item - we can and love doing it - we'll add on a small additional fee, by adding a gift wrap selection to our shop.

CUSTOM ORDERS
If you'd like any of our stationery or cards personalized, we can do that. Just convo or email us and we'd be happy to switch it up. Custom cards will incur a $1.00 extra charge. We'll add a special custom card item to the shop for $1- and you can purchase it, at that time.
To customize the SHOE-IN, there is no additional charge - if we have the fabric, we'll do it - it may take an additional day.
