Thanks for visiting my shop! I hope you like what you see!
Yarn is my passion. By day, I am an "information specialist" at a large university library. I covet every minute of my knitting time, but even when I'm not knitting, I'm always thinking of yarn and patterns, reading knitting books, magazines, blogs and looking at yarns and other knitters' creations online.
I use a variety of yarns, mainly designer yarns in natural fibers, but occasionally a craft store variety captures my fancy and will appear in my hand knits. I make scarves, a few baby blankets and an occasional baby or toddler sweater and even some dog sweaters! I am passionate about my knitting and my needles are always flying.
My grandmother and mother taught me how to knit and crochet when I was a little girl. I always loved making things, but stopped doing it for a while during college. In 1989, I started again when I asked a friend to refresh my memory so I could crochet a baby blanket for my first niece. The rest is history. I spent a good number of years crocheting baby blankets for friends, family and charity. Then I decided to try knitting again and got completely obsessed!
After losing my beloved Baby Bear, a German Shepherd I found on petfinder.com and adopted at age seven, I have now welcomed into my heart and home another seven-year-old German Shepherd, Kody. His family got divorced and sadly, he was given up. I found him on petfinder.com and he and I are getting more and more attached as the days go by. He's extremely well behaved and friendly and getting the hang of things in his new home.
I volunteer as a dog walker/socializer at Jersey Animal Coalition in South Orange, NJ. It's the rescue group that helped me find Baby Bear and I am forever grateful for having him in my life. I really look forward to walking the dogs there.
I have been knitting scarves for the past few years. I've given them as gifts and recently started selling them to friends and family. Now that I found Etsy, I hope to share my love of knitting with a larger audience.
I hope you enjoy my creations. Please let me know if there's a variation you'd like me to make. If I can get the yarn and have the time, I would be happy to entertain your special request!
