Bio

My first sewing project was a vest and I was 8. Recently I found a picture of me in that vest and realized that I had been sewing for over 30 years. I've sewn everything from bridesmaids' gowns, corsets, Halloween Costumes to compression sacks for sleeping bags.

In 2001, I learned how to spin. All of the handspun needed to be utilized, so I taught myself how to knit. Socks and Lace items are my main interests in knitting. Over the years I've come to the conclusion that knitting is a hobby that has plenty of challenges that will allow me to explore it for decades to come.

My passion for knitting coincided with my passion for sewing when I realized that the backpack I used for storing my knitting in was not enough. A raccoon had taken my backpack, opened it and scattered my knitting all over our campsite. I designed a simple, but useful drawstring bag that has become the KIP Bag.

My life is mostly on the go: Camping, traveling to see family, friends and plenty of fiber festivals! I needed a carrier for my knitting that would be washable.

The Ruddawg clan, consisting of me, Hubby Dave and Son Alex lives on 30 acres out in the middle of nowhere. We enjoy gardening, canning, hiking, reading and computers.
