Histand's Profile

Bio

b. 1973.

Miles Histand is showing a broadly themed exhibition of linocut block prints and oil paintings. Linoleum block printing is a technique where flat pieces of linoleum are carved out into a stamp-like form, inked, and then printed using either a press or a traditional hand burnisher. Sometimes several different blocks are used to create one image. Lately Histand has been adding locally themed work to his portfolio. The sudden snow storm that blew through has inspired him to start a line of work that shows the many facets of Portland weather. Histand’s prints are in private and public collections. See more of them at http://histand.etsy.com, or http://mileshistand.com . If you see a print that was sold, please check these sites for the print availability in the edition.
