I have always known I was adopted. (Since they haven't given me back, guess I still am.) :O)

Alone, in my 20's, and living in my first apartment on Staten Island, I began a search for my "first family." Before looking I spent a great deal of time thinking about being adopted; deliberating whether or not to share my efforts with my adoptive family, and, if I found anyone in the process - to tell them or not.

During the next several years I prepared myself for *every* possible outcome - good/bad, dead/alive, accepting/rejecting, clean and sober or 'whatever'... the permutations of a life are endless.

After approximately 18 years of on-and-off searching I came in contact with and was changed by, among other gifts, my First Family (including my First Mom and my three half-siblings); marriage, motherhood, the loss of a child, the birth of another; domestic violence, and divorce; and ultimately the importance and value of intuition and art-making - separately and together.
