Kitschy Kitschy Cook (vegan cooking zine)

$5.00
Kitschy Kitschy Cook! is a 32p quarter-size vegan recipe zine circa 1996. This zine has some tastey recipes (including one of my own which was later published in Sarah Kramer's How It All Vegan) for the veg/vegan crowd. And if you're an omnivore, it's a great resource to have for when you need to prepare food for vegan friends and family -- many of the recipes are large enough (or double well) for potlucks and holiday dinners.

- soups (3)
- salads (4)
- breads (2)
- sauces (3)
- entrées (12)
- desserts (6)
- beverages (5)

Reprinted from the original zine flats.

I can custom make a book for you identical to this, or you can choose different papers for the back cover & spine reinforcements. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipment.

Lokta colors available: Turquoise, Cherry red, Wine red, Lime green, Emerald green, Golden yellow, Royal blue.

_____________________________________________

[[ BROOKLYN BRIDGE, NYC ]]

The front of this notebook features one of my TTV photographs of the Brooklyn Bridge. TTV stands for "through the viewfinder," in this case, that of a vintage, square format camera. This gives the images a retro feel and a variance in focus that isn't common to straightforward digtal photography.

The back cover and spine reinforcements are made with lokta fiber papers in deep turquoise blue. Lokta is a renewable resource.

The textblock is made from 60lb, bright white drawing paper. The paper has a good amount of tooth and can handle ink, pencil and many other media.

- 6.25" x 6.25" (16 cm x 16 cm)
- 200 pages.
- Bound with turquoise blue waxed Irish linen thread.

This coptic bound book opens completely flat, for ease of use.

All books ship via USPS First Class or Priority Mail, with insurance. Shipping prices can be combined on multiple books and most other items. (Mirrors, buttons, bottle openers are all eligible for combined shipping. Sticker sheets and other odd sized or fragile items may be damaged in combined transit and must ship separately.)

This coptic bound book opens completely flat, for ease of use.

3D Naked Chef In Blue Clown Wig , , , Vintage Recycled Postcard Notebook

$10.00
This notebook is made from a vintage, recycled 3-D postcard with an image of a nude chef in a blue clown wig. Jamie Oliver's soulmate? Who knows?

In the more modest pose, our chef is wearing a little white hat and a floral, embroidered apron with a red strap while she holds aloft an intact egg and a frying pan. In the nude pose, she is turned to the side and wearing nothing but her white hat. The egg has magically transformed to an adorable baby chick in the frying pan.

The cover is a vintage postcard -- my guess is from the 1970s. It has a few, non-distinguishing printed markings and some pencil notations on the reverse. Three dimensional postcards have a textured plastic top-coat which has a tendency to curl with age. The cover on this notebook does curl slightly at the edges.

The text block is approximately 50 sheets of bright white copier paper. The back cover is archival matboard, trashpicked from end of semester art-school garbage. (Do photo students ever save the center cut pieces after they mat their final projects?)

approx 4" x 5.5"
14.5cm x 10.5cm

Original Etching , Flame Orange , , Cork Bottom Coasters

$22.00
Set of four 3.5" cork bottom coasters made from an original etching.

Etching creator is unknown. I found a stack of abstract hand-pulled prints in a box lot of goods I bought at auction years ago. So much labor had gone into them that I couldn't bear to chuck them out, but they weren't really my aesthetic to hang on the wall. I brought them out recently and made these one of a kind coasters.

If you are a fan of beautiful textures and vivid color, these are the pieces for you. I'll be listing several other sets, but each print was made with different colors, so even the images that use the same plates are one of a kind.

This set is done in Flame orange, crimson red and deep, almost black burgundy.
