Handmade from recycled newspaper. I used the colorful produce sales section, a recycled button and bright red thread for stitching. I made a ruffle trim using the same paper. One of a kind and totally eco friendly! I gave this hat a coat of flexible varnish to make it a little more durable and super shiny.
A handy piece of elastic (sewn to the hat) will keep this cutie in place while you enjoy yourself! Please let me know if you have any questions.

This retro sign is in Albuquerque - I took the new train there (from Santa Fe) about a week ago and took this photo!
This image is layered with texture (from a wonderful old scratched up window in my neighborhood!) which gives it a vintage vibe and softer color. 5x7 matte print with a small white border. I will sign on the border or on the back upon request.

Comic Brooch - Paper Flower Pin

This unique brooch is handmade and one of a kind. I used an original comic from a 50s magazine and acid free card stock. The petals are hand sewn together to create this flower shape with a hinged pin sewn to the center back. I added little rhinestones using metal rhinestone settings to each petal then heavily varnished the entire flower. This is my original flower design and is made with recycled materials.

This hat is made from recycled sheet music, recycled newspaper and a recycled button. One of a kind and totally eco friendly. I used several layers of newspaper and recycled sheet music from an old book as the top layer and finished the hat with a little flower, button and ruffle on the bottom. Denver in November - One of a Kind Artist Book

This book is made from scratch by me. I started with a Nikon F3 film camera and took a series of photos during a visit to Denver in November of last year. I printed some of those photos on heavy acid free card stock and dipped them in bees wax. The wax gives a wonderful translucent glow and makes each image rich and inviting. I made this book by sewing the parts together (with my sewing machine) then binding the book with 3 small rings. I put a layer of matte varnish on the back of all of the stitching and made a small window in the cover to reveal the first photo.

There are 5-4x6" photos in this 6x9" one of a kind book.

This one of a kind flower is handmade from a photo print. This is my original photo of the liquor store in my neighborhood. It's a bit of a dive and very old..I love it. Lots of characters frequent the place and I have taken hundreds of pictures and some videos of this place! This flower is my original design. This is my old silver spoon that has this wonderful heart shaped tarnish...it just happened over time. Magic! I layered this image with texture (also a photo I took) for rich soft color. This matte print has a small white border. I will sign the print on the border or on the back upon request.

4x6 mini magical scene - I created this scene with my tiny toys and a confection heart that says "magic". I used a lot of glitter to add to the magic. I took the original photo with my Nikon film camera

I copied the original photo on acid free cardstock and dipped that image in bees wax. I hand sewed the waxy image onto cotton I also dipped in the bees wax. I used my sewing machine to stitch the waxy cotton and image onto a piece of cotton without wax (so it won't make your wall or window waxy) I put a little hole on the top and attached a little cotton string for hanging. The wax makes the image translucent and looks great with back light...either on a lampshade or a window. It has a more subtle yet still very lovely glow even on a wall.

the size of the entire piece is approx 5" x 7"

Deadly Deception - One of a Kind Artist Book

Fiction. 7" x 11".
3 original drawings on the recycled pages of a book called Deadly Deception. I dipped those drawings in bees wax and hand stitched them using bright red thread to card stock. For the cover I used the title page from that same book, dipped it in bees wax and hand and machine stitched it to recycled cardboard. I made a window in the cover to view part of the first drawing. Each drawing has the same bright red thread hand stitched at the necks of each character. Bound with 3 little rings for easy viewing.

Handmade from scratch.
3 original drawings approx 4" x 7".

My first purse listed on Etsy! This 10x10" purse is handmade from scratch using vintage "new-stock" cotton plaid fabric (I got the fabric from MerryThings here on Etsy) I quilted the fabric with quilt batting and used recycled lace to make and X design on each side. I used cute metal vintage buttons in the center of each X. I lined this purse with mossy green cotton and added a 3.5x4" pocket on the inside (perfect size for a cell phone, card case or small digital camera) The 22" handle is made with recycled black canvas - I made it long enough to wear comfortably on your shoulder.
This one of a kind bag was inspired by a friend on Vox - she does not wear hats but asked if I offer handbags! I have made several for friends over the years, but this is the first offered on Etsy!

Handmade from scratch using recycled vintage cotton and recycled trims/lace. I quilted the cotton with quilt batting and lined the hat with unbleached natural cotton. Each panel (3) on this hat is a different piece of fabric. Each side & the top has a patch made with different fabric and different laces/trims. I used black lace to run along the seams on the top and a wonderful red vintage button on the front of the neck closure. The neck closes with a snap for easy on/off with the button sewn to the front for a sweet finishing touch. Totally retro, unique, one of a kind and handmade with lots of love and time. this is a photo of my bat finger puppet on a candle - covered in cobwebs *a natural and wonderful touch made by the sweet hand of time and little spiders.

The image is printed on acid free card stock, mounted on natural unbleached cotton material by thread (hand stitched) and dipped in bees wax. I made a little hole in the top center and used a little piece of cotton string for a humble yet interesting way to hang it. The bees wax creates a wonderful translucent glow and makes this image somewhat transparent. Looks really cool hanging in a window or from a lamp shade.

This is an original ink drawing on a page from an old book. I used a very light gray colored pencil for the subtle web in the background. I dipped the entire piece in bees wax which gives it a wonderful glow and becomes beautifully translucent with back lighting *window or lamp shade is nice*
