Once only created for Curls Studio's tour set-up, the Toast of the Town Doll would grace the table for display only. Now Toast of the Town, the popular character of the Curls comic strip, can be yours to own and love!

Toast is a life-sized toast with two punched out holes for his eyes and a giant jelly smile. His arms are bendable. You can always be happy with Toast as your friend.

Toast is handmade by Carolyn Belefski.

What do you get when you take a group of insane comic book creators, lock them in a comic book store and tell them to make a 24 page comic book in 24 hours? ABSOLUTE INSANITY! And that’s exactly how Joe Carabeo and Carolyn Belefski, the creators of Black Magic Tales like it! On 24 Hour Comics Day 2008, they spent 24 hours creating a new Black Magic Tales from scratch. The outcome was the creation of the most out-of-this-world Black Magic Tales story yet—To The Moon.

Huddled together with other comic book creators at Fairfax, Virginia’s Laughing Ogre Comics, Curls Studio came armed to the event with only their pals Roxy, Dean, and Black Magic by their side. There was no story and nothing existing on a page to tell them where this trio of career criminals would be heading, but at the end of the 24 hour comic book marathon, team Curls Studio created a time bomb of a Black Magic Tales story.

To The Moon gets rolling with our heroes car breaking down in the middle of the desert. What follows is a night of wild chases, betrayals, explosions, FBI agents, aliens, and a giant reward check... the type of craziness that can only been read in the Black Magic Tales world. If you have never read a Black Magic Tales book yet, To The Moon is the book to get your hands on.

The trade paperback "CURLS: 2002-2009 Collection of Comic Strips" contains 222 pages of goodness with practically everything I have ever done for Curls in the past few years and contains 200 strips and extra projects I have featured Curls characters in.

Curls started as a comic strip I developed at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002. The strip was published twice a week in The Commonwealth Times, VCU's student newspaper and ran until 2004. Since then I have continued creating new Curls strips and this book collects everything I have done so far.
