Hi, I made this thing and I love it.

This is a simple pencil sketch done on brown paper. I'm bad at faces so I left off the face and ooooh, creepy.

Sketch is about 5.5 by 3.5 inches. Frame is 8 by 6. The wood is not quite as orangey as it appears here. Frame has a prop-stand thingy on the back but NO hangy thing.

Sorry about the glare & reflections off the glass; my bad.

Every time I look at this, I remember a really good day spent lying on the floor drawing stuff.

* * * PLEASE NOTE: these beans are the ones you want, if you're making something strongly vanilla-flavored. They will also work as an excellent counterpoint to chocolate and fruit flavors, BUT the Tahitian beans in my shop are specifically meant for that, and they're cheaper.

These beans are about 6-7 inches long and are plump and moist and filled with seeds (see photo 2, where they're all over my fingers just from picking up a bean!).

I'm a pastry chef and I go through a lot of these things, so yours will be very fresh. However, they keep for ages, so there's no rush to use them quickly. If properly stored (airtight container + dark cupboard), they should last a year. The worst that will happen is they'll get dried out and lose a little of their flavor, but they will still be usable, and will still enhance your baking.

Vanilla beans will improve the flavor of virtually any homemade dessert. They're super easy to work with - slice in half the long way and scrape out the tiny seeds inside. The seeds will add flavor to cakes, frostings, cheesecakes, custards, ice creams, etc. The bean itself can be steeped in milk or cream, or you can cover it with any kind of sugar to make lovely vanilla sugar for your coffee, or you can cover it with vodka in a closed container, and in a few weeks you will have insanely good homemade vanilla extract.

the usual spiel, still applicable:

- these mice are 100% composed of recycled or repurposed or otherwise useless materials, right down to the thread. this may include fabric scraps, bits of twine, orphaned shoelaces, etc. while these materials may not all be new, they are all utterly clean.

- the xs of their eyes signify that they are either dead or drunk, your choice!

- they're generally between 1 and 3 inches long (not including tails) and sometimes their sides are made out of two different fabrics, probably visible in photos

- these contain no catnip but kitties freaking love them

- they are sturdy as hell - my own cats' are over a year old, and are still totally fine. they can be machine washed though I recommend using a lingerie bag.

-sometimes they're slightly lumpy and have visually imperfect stitching but cats don't care

- i forget what else but if you have questions, speak up!
