This painting was done in acrylic paints which were roughly laid down on a 5 7/8 by 5 7/8ths piece of 1/8 inch masonite. The board was then scratched and scraped and burnished to make a complex series of textures.

I made this luscious oil painting in thick dollops of yummy jewel tones.

It's done on a stretched canvas measuring 8 inches by 10 inches by 3/4 of an inch.

I think it would look wonderful with a heavy gilt frame, but the sides are painted black so you could hang it up as soon as you get it.

I used to love a boy named Jon Sawyer.
Did he take acid?
In the title of this trio I'm inferring that he did try some LSD, but I'm not stating it as a fact.

Let's just say, if he did, I assume this is what he would have seen if he had a flashback...he had a groovy sense of style.

These little paintings/collages measure 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches.

They include images from a 1964 McCalls Woman Magazine and watercolour paintings done on Acid Free 140 lb Cold Press watercolour paper.

I made them with scissors and glue and paint and lots of love.

These will come signed and dated on the back by me, A-M Witney, artist at large.

Everyday when I go walking, I take Elliott Smith with me.

Sometimes he makes me smile, sometimes he makes me frown and sometimes, when the sun's rays manage to pour through the dark clouds overhead, I feel like he's in a better place and that he knows he has my Love down here on this mortal coil.

I made this piece with a gocco printed self portrait on antique dictionary paper, vintage music paper, ribbon, fabric, paint and threads of colours.
They have all been sewn up in acrylic sheer sheet and then they were decorated with the tiniest little pearl and jewel accent under his initials.

It hangs from a pretty red ribbon on the backside where it is also signed and dated.
It measures 8.5 x 10, with the wings reaching 12.5 inches.

Summer in Provence finds Robota in the hills surrounding a nearby Bed and Breakfast, where she'll be spending the next two weeks relaxing and enjoying French culture.

The heady aroma of nearby fields of Lavender fills her foil adaptors, as she poses for a quick picture on her way to check in.

Robota usually works in Prague, but she's come to France to fufill a life long protocal.

Robots do not dream of electric sheep, but they do dream of three weeks off, good wine, great food and friendly company...

~I made this painting using yummy thick oil paints on a stretched canvas that measures 10 inches by 8 inches by 3/4 of an inch.

It's suitable for framing, but the sides are painted black so you can hang it up as soon as you get it.

It's signed, titled and dated by A-M Witney on the back.

Should you fancy it, I'll wrap it up carefully and send it via Canada Post. Our feedback on shipping paintings is pretty nice and rightly so...I make a package a present...

It's been done in pretty tones of pastel shades and finished with a glossy glaze that makes it smooth to the touch.

The piece measures 11 1/4 by 5 3/4 inches and is about 1/2 inch high at it's thickest.

This painting was done in acrylic paints which were roughly laid down on a 12 x17 1/2 inch piece of 1/8 inch masonite.

This assemblage is made with clear acrylic screen paper, sewing pattern paper, butcher paper, various scrapbook papers and images taken from my beloved 1973 Eatons Spring and Summer catalogue.

I recently was made a gift of a very old sewing machine and then another newer machine that has all sorts of fancy stitches.

Suffice to say, I'm in love with the technique of layering and collaging and stitching and covering and joining materials.

These are on the edge of outsider art in that I am by no means a trained seamstress.

(My mother, in a feminist frenzy in the late 1970's, pulled me from my Home Ec class to lead the way for girls to be able to take shop.

It never really worked out though.

The shop teacher totally blanked me and taught me nothing.

I watched the boys use the saws and stuff and I was given a bottle of glue and the cast off old wooden bits, which I glued together in crazy patchwork designs that I then sanded and stained.

So in some way, while this process shows off my nearly newbie sewing skills, it also pays homage to what I learned in shop...put pieces togehter and you make something neat.)

The piece comes with a pretty ribbon on the back from which to hang.

It's super light and would hang easily on a tack in case you run out of nails.

It measures just over a foot lengthwise to about 9 inches width at it's widest.

It comes signed and dated on the backside, for posteritys' sake.

I think these pieces look awesome hung with others in the series.
