This pendant is made of vitreous glass enamel, powdered glass fused to copper in a kiln at 1500 degrees Fahrenheit (816 degrees C). A Saffron Yellow chair is layered over a slick, glossy background of Cerulean Blue enamel.

This "oversized" pendant, measuring 2 inches (5.1 cm) in diameter, is my largest size pendant, a true statement-maker. Its bold size and dramatic impact is guaranteed to get compliments from admirers.

All Orange Peel Enamel pendants are counter enameled (enameled on the reverse side) for strength and durability and to reduce stress and warping that occurs in the firing process. The counter enamel on this pendant is black with “ope" fused into the enamel. The copper edge has been finished to a high polish.

*Please note: Your purchased enamel pendant may look *slightly* different (in color or design placement) than the pendant pictured here. Because of variances in firings, enamel application, and even slight color differences in enamel batches from the manufacturer, no two pendants are ever exactly the same. Such idiosyncrasies are the charms of a handmade item! :)

A Pacific Blue enamel dome mounted in a silver-plated, adjustable ring.

It's the latest addition to the new "Dom Line" of jewelry at Orange Peel – a series made from copper discs that I’ve domed and enameled* with one solid color. Simple, sleek, and modern... with that luscious enamel glossiness that looks almost good enough to lick.

* This process of enameling involves applying and fusing enamel powders (basically, powdered glass) to copper in a kiln at 1500 degrees Fahrenheit (816 degrees C). Tiny (Cyan / Jade) --- Enamel on Glass (with Etched Finish) Necklace

Tiny and soft-spoken.

A small, cyan glass tile was enameled with an Art Nouveau-inspired design in Jade green enamel and kiln-fired until its edges took on just the right amount of pillowy softness. It was then etched for the perfect frosted glass finish, and topped with a square sterling tube bail, hung on a sterling silver chain.

The perfect “wear-it-everyday” necklace.

The design on this pendant has been made by applying enamel (finely ground glass) onto glass which is then fused in a kiln to about 1500 degrees. (The design is not a laser printer decal.)

A typical glass firing is several hours long to slowly bring the glass up to and down from the peak temperature, ensuring proper annealing. This prevents internal stresses from being formed within the glass which may otherwise cause the glass to crack or break.
