Skull on Vintage Book Page Print

Skull print made from my own photograph of a human skull taken below the streets of Paris.

The catacombs of Paris contain millions of bones and skulls stacked like firewood. I found the trip under the streets to be the most moving experience of my trip to Europe.

I screenprinted the photograph onto a torn page of a vintage hymn book, taking care to pick song titles that were appropriate to the image.

Each print is done by hand, one at a time, and on a different page of the hymn book so your print may differ slightly from the one shown.

Page is 5"x7.5" and comes packaged with a matboard backing in a archival cellaphane sleeve.

I recommend having it spraymounted to a decorative backing before framing.

Copper Ear Wires- Pkg of 10 pairs

10 pairs (20 in total) handcrafted copper earring wires. 1/2" in diameter at the widest point.

This is the style I use the most so I thought I'd offer them to you!

I start with 20 gauge copper, measure and cut each length. I then carefully file flat both ends of the wire, check the lengths again for evenness and form each small loop and then each large loop, one at a time by hand.

I toss the ear wires into my tumbler for several hours, this hardens the usually very soft copper wire so that you dont have to worry about the earrings pulling the wire out of shape. Tumbling also produces a beautiful high shine on the earwires.

I again double check the end going into the ear for any sharpness, refiling and retumbling if needed.

Please note: I do not seal my copper earwires, they will eventually oxidize as all copper does.

To keep them shiny and happy, I recommend using a dry polishing cloth (available at any jewelry store) to clean them.

I Got The Blues Recycled Wool Scarf- REDUCED

Definitely one of a kind, this sweater is made from at least 4 different wool sweaters. I took the sweaters and washed them, shrinked them a bit and then handstitched them together to make this scarf. Its alternating randomly sized pieces of grey, navy and blue and grey stripes.

I hand-appliqued a freehand cut flower on the ends of the scarf and brightened each flower with a hot lime piece of felt for the center!

Why handstitch? Cause its relaxing and my family allows me to do it while I watch tv with them, otherwise they ban me and my noisy sewing machine to the other end of the house...so buy this sweater because it encourages my family to stop locking me away! ;-)

The scarf is approximately 67" long and 6" wide.

This glitter will eventually oxidize to a nice rich patina.

What I like to do is use a flattened coffee filter underneath the item Im applying glitter to.
Use a fairly thick glue (my favorite is Diamond Glaze)and apply the glue to the item.
Sprinkle the glitter over the item, you can press gently to adhere it.
I usually just let it dry at that point THEN knock off the excess glitter and use a brush to take off any more thats not totally attached.

Fold the coffee filter in half and use it to funnel the glitter either back into the bag or into a small jar.

The nice thing about the glass glitter is that it is cleaner then the plastic and is easier to use.

please note: the raw edges on this ribbon are very prone to fraying, probably because its dyed such a light color that the dye doesnt hold the fibres together.

Felted Wool Face and Body Buffers

3 Buffers. roughly 3-4 inches in diameter

Gently exfoliate your skin with these felted wool buffers. A process of needle and wet-felting creates each flat, disk shaped buffer from corriedale wool.

The buffers are gentle enough for your face but will also work for the rest of you!

How to use- wet face/body and your buffer thoroughly, add facial cleanser or favourite soap if using on your body to the buffer. GENTLY rub onto your face, avoiding your eyes and any sensitive areas. I usually use mine 2-3 times a week.

Rinse off and check out your fresh skin!

To keep your buffer clean and ready, just rinse it out well, squeeze it and hang to dry. My buffer usually does a month or so before I toss it out (at that point you could use it to scrub down your shower but remember to keep it separate from the one you use on your face!)

NOTE: for very obvious reasons, do not use if you are allergic to wool or commercial dyes (wool is purchased dyed)...Do not use excessively- you will end up with either no face at all or a very irritated one!

I wish I could tell you that an exfoliated face will bring you good luck, a new man, make you look 10 lbs thinner or make you rich...but I cant...but it will make you feel like you have new skin!

No real choice on colors although I will take suggestions, if I have them in that color I will send them!

Super soft and oh so cozy! I crocheted this neckwarmer in a soy/wool mix yarn, Im loving this yarn so much that I think I've bought it in every color combination it comes in!

It has a low twist to the yarn which makes it stay supersoft and kind of fluffy.

A little longer than the Sorbet cowl, this one is 12 inches wide(laying flat, 24" total diameter) and 13 inches long, this gives it a nice scrunchiness or you can fold it neatly in half on your neck.

The cowls look great tucked into the neckline of a wool or corduroy coat/jacket or even as an alternative to a necklace for wearing inside.

Handwash and lay flat to dry.

An experiment in fusing papers to a lightweight fabric so you can easily stitch it etc. I have layers of vintage and newer ephemera glued to muslin. Its layered on a stretched canvas and other fabrics and a fabric transfer were added.

Canvas is 8"x10" with painted edges. It is ready to frame or could be hung without a frame as well.
