This is a one of a kind wall clock made from a recycled vinyl record (LP), spray painted with a hand-cut stencil of a line drawing of a sacred/flaming heart with the letters NOLA across the sash, tattoo-style. NOLA stands for New Orleans, LA, which is where I live - just offering up some hometown pride here!

Background is burgundy and stencil design is pink with pink paint spattering. Clock hour/minute hands are white; second hand sweep is black. Comes with a metal wall hanger. Quartz movement takes one AA battery (not included). Cool, funky home decor!

Though I use hand-cut stencils made from mylar and/or oilboard, therefore enabling me to reuse them, the process of hand spray painting them ensures that no two clock faces are exactly alike, even when the same color scheme is used. They may be similar, but there are always slight differences making each one unique. To that effect, each clock is hand signed and numbered on the back by me.

I'm so excited about my new line of bamboo-cotton jersey scarves! Similar to those made by American Apparel, except bamboo-cotton (more eco-friendly/sustainable), and hand-cut by me. Raw edges, just like American Apparel, and silkscreened by me using eco-friendly water-based inks. Green and DIY all the way, baby!

This particular scarf sports my NOLA (New Orleans, LA) sacred/flaming heart design in black ink on a chocolate brown scarf. Measures approximately 14" x 72". Super soft and comfy. Machine washable, just like you would any cotton-blend fabric. (I'd suggest cold to preserve the silkscreen print, however.)

GEAUX SAINTS!!!

In addition to the LP clocks, clothing, prints and paintings I stencil, I also make signs, mostly out of scrap pieces of wood pulled out of the trash or donated by friends. I started doing this right after Hurricane Katrina, since of course, there was no shortage of scrap wood. Almost 4 years later and there's still lots of piles of trash on the side of the road with scrap wood everywhere, either from gutted houses or from renovations being done. I still hoard said scrap wood whenever I find it and then I make stencils to fit their found shapes and sizes.

This stencil features standard block lettering spelling "WHO DAT!" with a fleur de lis in the middle and some stars on either side. It is black with gold lettering and paint speckling. Perfect for above a doorway, on your porch, mantel or wherever you need a little good luck juju for our boys in black and gold.

I recently started adding recycled bottle caps (multi-colored varieties of beer, soda and bottled water) to the edges of the signs made on 2x4's, to enhance the folk art flavor. I've been saving bottle caps for years for some supposed art project that I've never realized, so I've decided to start using them up on signs. Bottlecap arrangements may vary from the sign pictured, though tend to be heavy on the Abita Beer and Barq's rootbeer caps.

All signs are one-of-a-kind and hand-spray-painted. This sign measures 12" x 4" x 2", approximately.

This is my latest stencil painting/print project. I love Rachel Maddow and wanted to do a print and some paintings featuring her, so this is one of many I'll be offering here.

This is a one of a kind spray paint stencil painting on gallery wrapped canvas. It measures 12 inches by 12 inches, and is about 1.5 inches deep. Ready to hang - no framing necessary - as I've stenciled along the edges to frame the design.

Background is bright blue and stencil is 5 layers of black, powder blue, bright blue, and white. This took considerable time to design, separate the colors (by hand), cut the stencils (by hand), and then paint with spray paint. Top and bottom edges say "Truth-Teller" with left side edge spelling out "Rachel" and right side edge spelling out "Maddow," all in white. Signed in lower right front edge.

I'm estimating shipping at $10 USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation. (It's not that heavy but will require a sizable box and lots of packing materials to insure its safe travel.) Insurance is extra, if you want it. I will ship internationally, but you will have to convo me first with your address so I can give you an accurate shipping quote.

I am open to local (New Orleans) pick up, but you should convo me first and I can just bill you for the purchase price without shipping, or I can refund the shipping amount if you go ahead and purchase it. Either way, if you pick up, I obviously won't charge shipping. (I'm in Mid-City.)

BINGO mixed media assemblage recycled board game canvas red white black

This is my newest mixed media assemblage, made from many, many Bingo game pieces and cards, plus a few other random board game pieces, checkers, pawns, Lite Brite pegs, and fortune cookie fortunes. All on top of a recycled CD, 45rpm single (record), and 12" LP (record). All epoxied together on top of a red spray painted 12"x12" canvas, which has the word "BINGO!" stencilled onto all 4 sides.

The top roullette-like wheel actually spins freely and comes off (as seen in last photo).

It's a little hard to photograph so I tried to take several angles. It's fun flat but also cool hung on a wall, so I think you could display it either way, whatever suits your fancy.

The inspiration for this was more of a study in color and design, as well as a celebration of the fun of vintage board games and games like Bingo. I love making these funky little mixed media assemblages from found/recycled objects. This one was intended for an art show that I never ended up making the deadline on, so, well, here it is up for sale now on Etsy.

I use E-6000 to glue everything together; it's pretty sturdy but I make no lifetime guarantee. It should hold up to normal wear and tear but I would consider it fragile, so treat it accordingly.

This is a one of a kind wall clock made from a recycled vinyl record (LP), spray painted with a hand-cut stencil of a line drawing of a sacred/flaming heart with the numbers 70119 across the sash, tattoo-style. 70119 is the zipcode for the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans, where I live - just offering up some neighborhood pride here!

This is my latest stencil painting/print project. I love Rachel Maddow and wanted to do a print and some paintings featuring her, so this is one of many I'll be offering here.

This is a one of a kind spray paint stencil painting on canvas. It measures 14 inches by 18 inches. Ready to hang or you can frame it if you like.

Background is primer grey with black and white paint speckling/drips and the stencil itself is 5 layers of black, powder blue, bright blue, and white. This took considerable time to design, separate the colors (by hand), cut the stencils (by hand), and then paint with spray paint. Below the portrait it says "Truth-Teller" in black. Signed in lower right front.

I'm estimating shipping at $10 USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation. (It's not that heavy but will require a sizable box and lots of packing materials to insure its safe travel.) In addition to the LP clocks, clothing, prints and paintings I stencil, I also make signs, mostly out of scrap pieces of wood pulled out of the trash or donated by friends. I started doing this right after Hurricane Katrina, since of course, there was no shortage of scrap wood. Almost 4 years later and there's still lots of piles of trash on the side of the road with scrap wood everywhere, either from gutted houses or from renovations being done. I still hoard said scrap wood whenever I find it and then I make stencils to fit their found shapes and sizes.

This stencil features standard block lettering spelling "HOPE" with some stars on either side. It is yellow with orange lettering. Perfect for above a doorway, on your porch, or wherever you need a little hope.

I recently started adding recycled bottle caps (multi-colored varities of beer, soda and bottled water) to the edges of the signs made on 2x4's, to enhance the folk art flavor. I've been saving bottle caps for years for some supposed art project that I've never realized, so I've decided to start using them up on signs.

All signs are one-of-a-kind and hand-spray-painted. This sign measures 12.5" x 4" x 2", approximately, and has 2 eye screws with wire between them, for hanging.

Freshly printed just days ago! I FINALLY made a screen for this design, which was previously only available as a spray paint stencil. Been having requests for this one for a while, so finally, here it is!

This vintage bike themed stencil design was originally inspired by a street stencil I saw in Philadelphia. I used to have an old school banana seat bike like this one when I was a kid, and I lost a similar one in the floods of Hurricane Katrina. I miss it! WHAT WILL HE DO WITH IT mixed media found recycled object assemblage folk art

Part of what I amusingly called my "What" series of mixed media pieces, this upcycled mixed media assemblage is made on a 33rpm LP/vinyl album (clear orange in color) and includes a 45rpm single, a plastic doll arm and hand, dominos, many vintage board game pieces (Monopoly, Battleship, etc.), and various other found/recycled objects.

All objects are glued to the surface of the LP with heavy duty epoxy. Not indestructible, but definitely sturdy. Handle with care. (Especially the plastic doll arm that sticks out!)

The small record is entitled "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands," which, to me, begged the question - spelled out in Scrabble Sentence Cube Game dice - What Will He Do With It? This piece makes me laugh. Meant to be light-hearted humor.

Measures approximatedly 12 inches in diameter and doll hand protrudes about 3 inches from surface. Comes with a metal wall hanger on the back for easy installation.

Definitely one of a kind.

New Orleans NOLA Rising stencil print street art graffiti black red

This design is a new collaboration I'm doing with the New Orleans based group NOLA Rising - you can read all about them on their blog, nolarising.blogspot.com. They promote the making and distribution of free public art as a means of lifting the spirits of the bedraggled citizenry of New Orleans, who are still struggling to rebound after the ravages of Katrina. I have whole-heartedly supported the efforts of NOLA Rising ever since it emerged right after the storm, and this is my way to support them and give something back for all they've done to help brighten the days and lives and streets of the New Orleans community.

My design features a take-off on the familiar crescent moon and stars from the popular New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board water meter cover design, and some revolutionary propaganda poster-style raised fists, representing the defiant spirit of the citizens of New Orleans. I chose to add the stylized fleur de lis, which has become the logo for NOLA Rising, on the wrists of the raised fists, tattoo-style, to drive home the symbolism of New Orleans and NOLA Rising.

(That design, btw, the stylized fleur de lis, is an original design by ReX, the founder of NOLA Rising, which he so graciously is letting me use for this design.)

The design will eventually be used for stickers and t-shirts, but those are still in the works. For now, this is the only way to get this design and show your support!

Due to the success of my Obama stencil prints, this is another hand-cut stencil design that I'm doing as spray paint prints. For now, they will all be 11"x14" Bristol Board and in a variety of color combos.

This one has a red background with black speckles and the design was sprayed once with silver, and then on top of that is black, so that it makes some of the silver peek out from around the edges, giving it a glowing look. Cool effect. Prints are unmatted and suitable for framing, and will be signed by me before shipping. (Signature not shown in photos, sorry!)

All prints will be rolled in waterproof tyvek envelopes and shipped in heavy-duty 3" mailing tubes. This is a one-of-a-kind, 7-inch (45rpm single) recycled vinyl record clock, spray painted with a hand-cut stencil of the recycle symbol. Background is green with white specks of paint, with the recycle design printed in yellow. Clock hour/minute hands are white; second hand sweep is black. Quartz movement takes one AA battery (not included).

Great for your favorite green/recycling fan. Makes a great, unique gift. Funky home decor.

I've been making stencilled vinyl record clocks for about 5 years now - you can see some of my current inventory on my website, www.artbymags.com, and elsewhere on my Etsy shop. I do them on a variety of standard 12-inch LPs, more rare 10-inch records, and smaller 7-inch 45rpm discs.

Shipping will be $8 priority to anywhere in the US; international buyers will have to email me first to discuss shipping possibilities and rates. Paypal only unless you present a compelling case to me for some other means of payment.

This is a one-of-a-kind, 7-inch (45rpm single) recycled vinyl record clock, spray painted with an original stencil design - I call it the Skull de Lis, because it's a skull and crossbones stencil design with the fleur de lis in the skull. Background is purple with black skull de lis design and black and silver specks/drips of paint. Clock hour/minute hands are white; second hand sweep is black.
