A vintage corkscrew in the shape of a giant skeleton key from Germany, inscribed with the sentiment, "In Vino/Veritas" on front and back, respectively.

According to The American Heritage New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy, In Vino Veritas is "A Latin phrase suggesting that people are more likely to say what they really feel under the influence of alcohol."

It means, “There is truth in wine.”

This corkscrew is made of hefty bright brass with ornate carving of grapes and leaves, and a faux verdigris patina.
