Mystery Monster occult trinket, raku fired tribal pendant

Mystery Monster occult trinket. An original handmade ceramic work of art by me, Marc A. Damicis. A unique, one of a kind piece, not made from a mold. Raku fired ceramic with a smokey glaze and blue underglaze in the recessed areas. About 1 ¼” in length and less than ¼” thick. The back is flat and unglazed. Made into a necklace. Strung on 1 yard of waxed cotton cording. Accented with cobalt blue and striped African powder-glass beads. These beads really are an excellent match with the aged look of the raku pendant. Signed "marc" on the back. The Raku firing process is done outdoors in a gas fired kiln, and consists of rapid high temp firing followed by rapid cooling & reduction in straw or sawdust. This results in a great earthy look which is an excellent for tribal monsters, tiki and skulls. Shipping & handling is $2.90.

Hey kids! Here’s a nice under the sea, disease infested creep for you! It's my zombified take on that annoying little jerk, Sponge Bob. Infected with all manner of aquatic worms, bacteria, algae slimes, and nasty parasites. This is an art print of an original work of art by me, Marc A. Damicis. The image is 7” x 10” on an 8 ½” x 11” sheet. The print is on 80lb acid-free, gloss cover stock and printed on a Kodak Nexpress. The original painting was done in ink and acrylic. Pendulous Racks Coloring Book. This weird art zine is a colloborative project including myself and artist friend and fellow Philadelphia Cartoonist Society member, Amanda Lewis. Now there's no need to throw a fit folks! If anything, this work is weird and grotesque. I wouldn't consider this to be gratuitous or erotic, but maybe risque' in lowbrow, cartoony sort of way, however, it's not for kids. Now on to the gentle description: 2004, digest size (5.5" x 8.5") and saddle stapled with a lavender paper cover. This bizarre bestiary of breasts has 24 pages of b & w illustrations and a written intro. There are over 20 images in this odd menagerie of racks...some funny and some monstrous. Well…maybe not so psychotic. The cover images are a little strange, but very colorful and cool! From my collection of odd odds and weird stuff. Humpty Dumpty’s Magazine for Children,March 1957. 5 ½” x 7 ½”. 122 pages! The cover is full color and still quite vibrant. The interior contains “cut-outs, games, puzzles, pictures to color & stories for beginning readers.” Profusely illustrated with 2-color art. In otherwords, black & green, or black & red, etc. These magazines are in great condition, considering they are over 50 years old. Hopping Brain-Bot, original monster art, lowbrow robot critter

The Hopping Brain-Bot. Monster cut-out paper-art. This is some kind of weird biomechanical monster that hops around like a pogo stick. Approx 9 ½” wide at the head and 12 ½” tall. Mixed media: ink, colored pencil, gouache & acrylic on heavy textured art paper, cut "Rorschach" style...a fold n’cut technique. There is a slightly detectable crease down the center of the piece, which is part of the process of making these cut-outs. Comes unmounted, with a piece of acid-free mat board for backing. About these cut-outs: I was inspired to make these things after doing various art classes with little kids. I would cut out different animals and creatures from cheap construction paper. I realized that I really liked cutting paper! And working with kids doing art was pretty cool too! I eventually applied my monsterization to this technique and upgraded to better materials. These cut-outs are made from a heavy, artist quality colored paper. I fold a piece of paper, and draw out a design, specifically, "half" of a creature. I then cut the image out. When the paper is unfolded, you have a symmetrical image, In my case a monster. It kinda remids me of an ink-blot or "Rorschach" image. I then add color and detail using acrylic, gouache, ink markers, and colored pencils. The monsters come unmounted, however, I do include a piece of mat-board for backing. These can be mounted on any board I suppose. You could even mount them using foam-core risers to create a shadow-box look. They would also work well in a float-frame, which can be purchased inexpensively.

Here’s a nice vintage Halloween skeleton, jointed diecut decoration, still in the original package. It’s from my own collection of skulls, skeletons, monsters, weird toys and Halloween stuff! It’s from the mid to late 70’s. The skeleton is 23” when fully extended and not printed on the back. The package itself is about 15” including the header card. The item is in great shape, safely stored away. There is some shelf wear and some very minor edge creasing to the skeleton. The card has some edge wear and pencil markings. SLOW DEATH 3, vintage underground comic book, horror sci-fi, MATURE

Here’s a vintage underground comic book from my own creepy collection of weird stuff! Slow Death #3.The Slow Death series primarily dealt with post apocalyptic themes with a dark n’ twisted, sometimes kinky twist. 1971. Typical comic book size, 7” x 10.” 40 pages with black and white interior with a color cover. 5 stories involving a variety of weird situations and conflicts including aliens, mutants, and ravaged planets. Great fun! 2 of the stories, including the color cover were drawn by the legendary artist Richard Corbin, who went by the pen name GORE at this early time. On this and all the UG comics that I will be listing here: The condition is excellent considering the age. No rips, tears, or loose bindings. There are some dings and spine creases here and there. All will come in sleeve with an acid-free backer board. Although these are in great shape, I try to handle them as little as possible so I will be adding very few, if any at all, pics of the interior art. Screaming Glow Skull, Halloween diecut. Beistle. This is from the early 80’s. I’ve always loved this classic Beistle skull design, and remember having these as a little kid! Since the 70’s, this skull has had more than a few incarnations in different colors and sizes. This one is approx 8 ½” x 13’ and is green with a glow-in-the-dark coating on the eyes and on various details of the skull. I’d say it’s in near-mint to mint condition. I’m providing a protective sleeve with acid-free backing with this diecut. Perhaps not a scarce item, I do consider this a rare one as they don’t appear very often.

Here’s a vintage underground comic book from my own creepy collection! Slow Death #4.The SlowDeath series primarily dealt with post apocalyptic and enviro / eco disaster themes with a sick n’ humorous, sometimes kinky twist. 1972. Typical comic book size, 7” x 10.” 32 pages with black and white interior and a color cover. 5 stories involving a variety of weird situations and conflicts with cyborgs, toxic waste mutants, hippy snuff squads, fighting robots, and cryogenics!! Great fun! Two of the stories, including the color cover were drawn by the legendary artist Richard Corbin, who went by the pen name GORE at this early time. On this and all the UG comics that I will be listing here: The condition is excellent considering the age. No rips, tears, or loose bindings. There are some dings and spine creases here and there. Hey creepo’s! It’s the THE ZOMBIE II, 1-inch pinback button set. And it features a whole new zombie! Nice jagged teeth! Unlike the lively zombie of the first button set, this guy looks kinda pissed. There are 5 buttons in the set in some nice purdy colors too. There’s mottled violet, bright blue, fluorescent limon, magenta, and good old green. First, there's the ZCB...Digest size (5½" x 8½"). 20 pages, saddle stapled with a red cardstock cover and black & white illustrations by me, Marc A. Damicis. The Zombie is one of my all time favorite monsters! There are 16 creepy, goofy, gooey, rotten, toothsome, eye-bulgey zombies for your viewing and coloring pleasure. They have cute names too; Chomp, Nekkie, Rex, Slab & Hairy, to name a few. There is also a written introduction about my thoughts on the Zombie, as well as some extra zombified drawings thrown in. And next...More grotesque amusement in vivid colors! The BOUNCING ZOMBIE FUN pinback button set! There’s red and purple and green. And a nice putrid yellow too. There's also a vicious lookin deep blue zombie. Then there is bright pink, along with fleshy zombie, pale zombie, turquoise zombie and orange zombie. And there is also a secret 11th button...the mottled putrid zombie! This is fun for the whole deranged family. The image source of these buttons is a photo of my very first rotten zombie-head sculpture. This particular zombie is aroused or excited as seen in the expression. This twinkle in the eye may be due to the sight of delicious people. Zombies are known to gain a little liveliness in their step when hungry. Psycho Cow, vintage plastic Halloween mask, weird n' cute

Here’s a vintage Halloween mask from my own collection of goofy stuff! This one is a weird cow with a licking tongue! I believe it to be from around the late 70’s to the early 80’s. It’s a traditional plastic Halloween mask with that cool, screenprinted-like design & color. The pink colors are a bit more bright & fluorescent in person than the photo. It’s in great condition with no cracks, however, the elastic band is missing. It measures 6.5” x 9” and about over 3 deep in the muzzle. Shipping and handling in the US is $4.80.

Dinosaurs Attack and Gross Outs, vintage monster bubblegum cards, lowbrow n' wacky

Here’s some unopened, vintage waxpacks of monster cards and stickers. Included are 2 packs of Dinosaurs Attack cards from 1988. Each pack contains 5 cards, 1 sticker and 1 stick of bubblegum. These are pretty outrageous cards! Although these were sold to kids, the imagery is a bit violent, so if you’re going to give them to younger children, please keep that in mind. There is also 1 pack of Baseball’s Greatest Grossouts from 1989. It contains 9 stickers and one piece of gum. These are along the lines of rat finks and weird ohs. In this case, we have drooling bug eyed and toothy monster guys as baseball players. All of these waxpacks have never been opened. And the 20+ year old bubblegum should probably not be chewed! The last 2 pics are included to give an idea of what the cards and stickers are like, however these particular images may not be in the packs that you get. I did a nice vampire devil monster. He’s got a blood moustache and pointy pointy teeth. An original artwork by me, Marc A. Damicis. Ink and acrylic on acid-free board. I also matted this piece with a 2” black acid-free mat. The art itself measures about 10” x 10 ¼”. The total size with the mat is 14” x 14 ½”. It’s ready to frame, however it’s not a standard size. Tiki Totem Terror, lowbrow monster magnet set, weird art

Here’s the Tiki Totem Terror, monster magnet set. There are 6, one-inch magnets of the same designs. These form the Monster Tiki Totem in sections. You can actually stack them in different combinations, however, there is a top and a bottom. At the top, there are dual Aztec serpents above a double cleft skull and a mystical eye. Then there’s a Tibetan demon bat. In the mouth of the bat is a cyclops snake. The body of the snake wriggles down between the split face of a tusked Yupik Tunghat devil. Next there is a decorative base with skulls that rests atop the head of a horned tiki tribal guy with a long forked tongue. The tongue falls between the angry eyes of a death mask who’s lower face consists of two Mayan skulls. Check out the pic of the actual painting of the totem! (not included in this listing). Here’s my zombified, disease infested take on that annoying little jerk, Sponge Bob. Infected with all manner of aquatic worms, bacteria, algae slimes, and nasty parasites. This is an art print of an original work of art by me, Marc A. Damicis. The image is 7” x 10” on an 8 ½” x 11” sheet. The print is on 80lb acid-free, gloss cover stock and printed on a Kodak Nexpress. The original painting was done in ink and acrylic.
