I wanted to develop a completely new shape for fall 2009, and knit a hat that I've never done before. It had to work in two of my favorite fibers-organic cotton and cashmere. I designed the beehive hat to flatter the face with its soft silhouette, and to be worn either pulled down over the forehead or set back at the hairline, which ever suits the wearer. This beautiful knit hat with crochet trim is my own design in the style of Bella's lovely charcoal gray cap from the La Push beach scene of the movie. Each hat is knit on order and will be mailed within one week of order. It fits teen and adult heads comfortably, either behind the hairline (as Bella wears it) or pulled down over the forehead. The wool I used is very soft and fluffy, and is machine washable for easy care.

Everyone can't wear animal fiber, but everyone wants a winter scarf to be warm and feel as cozy as possible. This scarf is knit from three different yarns, two of them a mixture of cotton and rayon, the third a nylon novelty yarn with a beaded texture. I'm totally hooked on mitts as a necessary wardrobe item. If you have arthritis, or Raynaud's, or just cold hands, these warm, fashion-wise gloves will make your hands more comfortable without getting in the way of all the things your busy fingers have to do.

This pair of black fingerless gloves is soft and loose-fitting. They will not bind, and are so light weight that you'll forget you're wearing them. I knit them from a Knit One Crochet Too yarn that is appropriately named Angora Soft. They are 45% nylon, 40% viscose, and 15% angora. I designed them with plain palms, but lavish lace on the back, and ribbed wrist and top bands. The gorgeous, chunky purple- and black-striped buttons come from lglas.etsy.com, and are polymer clay.

The silver ring with varisite stone was made by a local artisan, Dennis Jones. I'd be happy to put you in touch with him for custom jewelry.
