Skeinlets by Fabulosity, often imitated but never duplicated!

Skeinlets are mini skeins of my handspun yarns that range between 5-15 yards in length. They are comprised of many varieties of wool, depending on what is residing in my giant basket of scraps at the time. Skeinlets are most mostly merino, or merino blends, but there may occasionally be a bit of silk, tencel, seacell, bamboo or other wools included. Photos are of collections I have created, as you can see they come in a wide variety of colors!

This listing is for 20 cents. If you wish to purchase some skeinlets, simply purchase this listing and in the notes tell me how many skeinlets you would like to order. There is no need to pay for this 20 cent listing, it just helps me keep track of my orders. I sell skeinlets for $1.00 each. So, for example, 10 skeinlets are $10 and 15 are $15 so on (plus shipping) you just let me know how many you want! Upon receipt of your order, I will go to work immediately to create your skeinlets. When I am done, I will create a reserved listing for you and notify you that it is ready.

Skeinlets are an great way to explore handspun yarn if you've never had the pleasure of working with it! Also excellent for freeform knitting and crocheting, colorwork, scrapbooking or whatever inspires you to create! Customers have reported back that they’ve made tiny flower blossoms, added them to soft sculpture pieces, fingerless gloves, scarves and so much more.

A few words about the creation of skeinlets:

Skeinlets came about in a rather interesting way since I started listing them in 2007. I learned how to spin over the Winter of 2006, and as I learned how to spin, I started keeping a few yards of each yarn I spun. Between 10-15 yards, I had all these little bits of yarn piled up in a basket for reasons that were unknown to me at the time. Looking back I think I was keeping them for posterity, kind of a physical track record of yarns I had spun and color ways I had created or purchased. Over time they really piled up so I decided to make a scrap style crocheted afghan out what I had. Once that was done, I continued to add to what I had on hand but they weren’t going anywhere.

One night as I sat skeining yarn in my studio my eyes landed on the basket of little bits of yarn and I thought to myself that they’d look super cute if they were wound into mini skeins. I started winding them into those mini skeins and before I knew it I had my first collection of skeinlets. I listed them on a whim and before I knew it they had really taken off and since then have become by far one of my most popular and most requested items!
