Sitting at the cafe on the Seine and absorbing the culture, the breeze off the river and the rich mochaccino that sat in front of her.

She had been away from home for a long time.
Away from the rain, the grey days and the cozy fireplace.

As she sat down to open her mail, a parcel caught her attention. Wrapped simply with only her address on the outside, she opened it and delicately pulled away the tissue paper the gift had been wrapped in.

No note accompanied the darling earrings she pulled from the tissue. Simple silver birds and a blue flower hung from fabulously long french hooks.

Francois..she thought and slipped on the earrings. Mais oui, Francois and Paris. Birds and blue flowers reminded her of him.

Someday she'd go back. Someday.
