Red Choker Necklace by Sooz EBW FREE SHIPPING

$55.00
Here is my entry for the Etsy Bead Weaver's Challenge which this month is Red. As you can see, I used A LOT of red! I really love this color of seed bead and used the same color for both the size 11 and size 8 beads. To off set the redness, I used matte pink Toho size 11s for this piece.
It started with the Coil Chain that Ava Farrington published in the 2007 Bead a Day Calendar. She used it as a bracelet, and I decided to use it as a base for my choker. Then, I added drop picot fringe and branch fringe in the middle of the necklace so it adds some movement and a bit of pizzaz.

The clasp is vermeil.

I hope you like this piece... It decided to have a mind of its own, so I am hoping that the beads were right...

Thanks for looking!

After the unfortunate sailing incident, he lost one of his legs. He didn't give up, but used part of his mast to craft a new leg.

When he lost his eye, he got himself a fancy eye patch and a seeing eye bird.

So, he's a happy go lucky guy and happy he still has both his wings. Don't you think he'd brighten up your day?

He's made completely of polymer clay and hand sculpted by me.

Thanks for looking!

LOL
The lampwork is done by my bead mistress Faith Davis Ferris (TQClampwork.etsy.com)and I made the cute little blue fox that doesn't want to let the pretty little bauble go.
Along with two swarovski crystals, they are all neatly snugged in tight via a sterling silver headpin.

How cute is he? I tried in vain to make several styles (see last pic) and came up short... Then, I decided on this pattern... I kind of like how they came out...

Of course, I needed to add a bit of shimmer, so I added a top drilled swarovski crystal (8mm) to each earring.

The pattern is by me (although not a very hard one....) and each bead is stitched one at a time using size 11 seed beads.

Thanks for looking!

And, as always, there is FREE SHIPPING to US and Canada!

Black and White Art Deco Necklace by Sooz -EBW

$55.00
I love to bead weave and I love Art Deco, so I thought the Etsy Beadweaver's August challenge "Art Deco" would be a snap... NOT!!!
First, I had to procrastinate.... (I mean, really, just about an hour until the cutoff....)
Then, I had to look at all the pretty Art Deco you can find via Google and Flickr... (I am so easily distracted by pretty things!)
Finally, I find a design I like. I even know I want to do it in black and white. I always think of black and white and my Grandparent's upstairs bathroom when I think of Deco... Such a peaceful place that was. (It had black and white alternating tile, just in case you wondered....)
So, in between the 'Mom!'s and the 'I'm bored's, I started to stitch. As with all my projects, I rip out and start over at least three times. By bedtime last night, my shoulder ached. However, I was seeing the end of the pendant! (I even graphed it out!!!)
I get it done this afternoon and show it to my hubby. He mumbles, 'nice'. I ask him, what type of art do you think it is? He says, Indian... It's an arrowhead.
Cripes!

Anyway, this is my entry into the Etsy Beadweaver's August Challenge "Art Deco".

If you want to see all the entries, search on EBWC and see some pretty fantastic stuff!

If you'd like to vote on this challenge, the voting starts August 9th. You can go to our blog at http://etsy-beadweavers.blogspot.com to vote for your favorite.
Please vote (and it doesn't have to be for me either!)

The pendant is done with a combination brick and square stitch. The first strand is 15.5 inches and the second strand is 17 inches.
I can lengthen if you wish.

Well, at least I tried and if you've reached the end of this diatribe, congrats! hee hee
Thanks for looking (and reading!)
FREE SHIPPING to the US and CANADA

He waves to those that pass peaceably. However, if one traveler were to make him edgy, he won't hesitate to exterminate the threat.

Why does he do this? Why, Buddy is a Dragon Keeper. A special tribe of fae that protects the Dragon nests. He looks friendly enough, and those who try and hurt his beloved creatures, will know his friendly face hides a ferocious warrior.

Buddy is made from polymer clay and truly one of a kind!

So, I asked my expert... My 7 year old...
She said I needed to make it look like a road and it needed the middle line. So, that's what I did!

That kid was right! It made the piece!

The clasp is made from two Liz Long spacer beads...

As always - Shipping to US and Canada is on me!

I found that the elastic cording broke if I only used one strand, so this has two strands for extra durability.

Oh, did I mention that the barrel bead is a Mood bead? How much fun is that?!

Thanks for looking, and as always, there is FREE SHIPPING to the US and Canada!

I made a few more, but this one I love! He's a little larger than 2 inches and has a loop at the top so he can hang on a chain.

The design is one I came up with and is NOT a flat bead, but has multiple layers to give the little guy some depth.

He is bead woven using the brick stitch (mostly) and I used different types of seed beads to create the effects I wanted.

Thanks for looking, and remember, shipping is FREE to the US and Canada!

Black Geometric Cuff by Sooz bead woven bracelet

$45.00
This baby took me FOREVER! It fought me most of the way, and at the end, decided it would let me finish it... I do love the way it turned out though!

Carol Dean Sharpe and Mary Lou, really make this look easy, but it AINT!

This cuff will fit up to a 7 1/2 inch wrist and I will happily make it a little larger or smaller at no charge if necessary. The bracelet is about 1 inch wide.

I stitched each bead, one at a time using the peyote stitch. The design is one I created and I winged most of it. <G>

Thanks for looking and as with all my items, shipping is FREE to the US and Canada!
