Original 6 x 12 Painting - Home Sweet Home

"Home Sweet Home"

This mixed-media, collage painting was created on Strathmore Acquarius III watercolor paper, then mounted on 2" deep cradled Ampersand Clayboard (birch wood box).

Each fabric piece for the dress was painted separately, cut out, then pieced and glued together to create her "quilted" dress. Metallic copper dimensional paints were used on the background, and on her "bird's nest" hair.

This painting measures 6" wide x 12" high x 2" deep. The same design on the front has been painted on both sides, plus top and bottom, wrapping around the entire painting. This painting does not need framing and is ready to hang!

I used Golden acrylic paints, colored pencils, ink and gel pens, gold metallic ink, copper metallic dimensional paint, and diamond glaze for accents. It is sealed with several coats of satin varnish for further protection.

This completely handmade Christmas ornament was handcrafted from poplar wood and hand painted with acrylic paints, then finished with several coats of satin varnish for protection. A green and tan plaid homespun fabric bow was added for his bowtie, accented with a tiny red pompom. His halo is made of copper wire. This little ornie hangs from a heavy gauge wire and he's soooo cute!!!

Ornament back is nicely finished with paint, artist signed, dated, and varnished. Size is 3" x 4" (or 3" x 6-1/2" including wire hanger).

This beautiful art doll ANGEL holds a heart to her breast, which says "Believe". On the bottom of her robe it reads: "Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart".

She is freestanding and is 12" high and measures 10-1/2" across. Decorated both front and back, she looks beautiful displayed on an end table, coffee table, or dresser.

I spent many loving hours handcrafting this piece. It was inspired by one of my favorite artists, Beryl Taylor. This piece has a little bit of everything! Acrylic paint in red, pink, orange, purple, cream, and black. Plus ink, stamps, decorative papers, tissue paper, vintage book pages, and colored pencils. Not to mention beads, copper wire, a page pebble, copper microbeads, and wooden heart. And let's not forget about the stenciling, gold marker swirls, gold accent paint, and dimensional glaze!(Whoo!! And I'm embarrassed to admit that's only a fraction of the supplies I have in my art studio!) Several coats of satin acrylic varnish were applied for a protective finish.

NOTE: The face image is actually darker than it shows in photograph. The flash on my camera somewhat overexposed the image. Actual piece has more defined facial features.

"Believe" Angel was juried into the Professional Fine Arts division of the 150th Indiana State Fair 2006. She won an Honorable Mention ribbon in the Experimental/Mixed Media Division.

This beautiful art doll ANGEL holds a star to her breast, which says "Journey". On the bottom of her robe it reads: "enjoy the journey".

Handcrafted wood Santa Claus was cut from 1-1/2" thick poplar hardwood, created from the "Christmas" pattern book by Yvonne Kresal of Pumpkin Ridge. Handpainted all around, including front sides, and back, making it the perfect holiday decoration to sit on a table. Several coats of satin varnish were applied for a protective finish. Santa measures 6" wide x 7-1/2" high x 1-1/2" thick.

Pendant is covered with a beautiful gloss coating for added protection and lots of shine! Micro-glitter was added as a final step, for a little bit of sparkle and bling!

Size is 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" (not including bail). Pendant has a silver plated bail, and includes a 24" ballchain. Artist signed on back.
