I love going for walks by the lake and this time, I was there at the right place at the right time. It must have been a migration because that day I found a lot just floating in the lake. I took them and dried them and what better to do, than putting them in between glass and making necklaces out of them. So here is the finished product. I put them on a choker with magnetic finish.
Again, I do NOT kill the butterflies, therefore, I will have what I have, but can't promise any reproduction.

This skirt is a simple a-line skirt, made out of linen fabric and a top layer of vintage silver leave pattern sheer fabric. Very cute and beautiful. There is a zipper in the back and a draw string on the side for exctra looks. It's a size 8 skirt. The waist measurs 32 1/2", the hip 37 1/2" and it is 28" long. The yoke is made out of cotton fabric and also covered with the sheer fabric. It wears very comfortable and will be a nice adition for your spring/summer collection.

felt advent calendar

This calendar is made out of different blues and brown colored felt, cut into six different shapes of stockings and sewn together. The numbers are embroidered on. The shapes are little pouches to hold little surprises! The openings are between 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" wide. If you want to look at my sold section, it will give you an idea about different color themes and shapes. Please contact me if you would like one customized.
Here is a little story about the advent calendar.

The origins of the Advent calendar come from German Lutherans who, at least as early as the beginning of the 19th century, would count the days of Advent physically. Often this meant simply drawing a chalk line on the door each day, beginning on December 1. Some families had more elaborate means of making the days, such as lighting a new candle (perhaps the genesis of today's Advent wreath) or hanging a little religious picture on the wall each day.
The first known Advent calendar was handmade in 1851. The calendar developed over the years from just 24 pictures to 24 little doors which can be filled with little surprises, as the kids count down the days to Christmas.
