Everyone has a little cell phone, ipod, mp3 player or digital camera in their purses these days. I have the cutest pattern for toting them around. You can slip the hugger into your purse, carry it around as a mini purse or use the optional strap to loop it through your belt.

It makes a fantastic drink hugger because of the insulating properties of wool.

Knit it in your favorite team’s colors!

I can make one of these in a couple of hours. I am a very fast knitter but even beginners will find this an easy project to complete.

I use my scrap bits of wool and novelty yarns to create these. They are very inexpensive to make!

I like to give these huggers out as thank you gifts for my kids teachers and the school staff who make their learning so much fun. If a neighbor does a last minute favor for me, they get a cool hugger!

Leave the fur off to give it a more masculine sporty look.

Sew some sweet little felted flowers onto it for a whimsical touch! Daisy instruction included...ask for my free rose pattern!!

It is knit with size 10.5 strait, circular needles (optional) and double pointed 10.5’s. This size needle will cause all of your stitches to disappear after you have felted your hugger. Most patterns use size 11 or larger leaving visible stitching. They also make you use two strand of yarn which really prices up your costs. I use only 1 strand with my patterns. They are just as strong and have a very nice “hand”.

When people at art shows examine my felted goods up close and I have to explain to them that these are actually hand knitted. They get this funny little confused look on their faces because if the lack of visible stitches.

The finished hugger will hold any standard sized soda can.

Cute little handbags with 'clutch' style handles are all the rage in fashion. Your local knitting shops will tell you how handles were 'the thing' at this year's trade shows. Well, here is a pattern that takes that look to the next level!

The pattern has instructions for the fur collar. The photo with the flowers is another option. I provide the flower instructions as well.

OPTIONAL FUR COLLAR!!!I have developed a unique technique of attaching the novelty yarn to the body of the handbag so that it will elegantly drape around the rim of the bag just like a little fur collar. Most patterns will have you knit the novelty along with the wool in to the bag's body. I really dislike that look. It reminds me of bad hair plugs and doll baby hair.

ADD FLOWERS IF YOU WISH!! I have added instructions for felted roses for a touch of whimsy!

As you can see in one of the photo's, you can sew a matching ribbon around the rim with a cute little bow in place of the novelty yarn collar. You can also keep it simple and have no embellishment at all around the rim. Its all up to you! You could embellish the rim with buttons or shells as well....just have fun with it!

The pattern requires a little over 420 yards of wool and just one regular skein of novelty eyelash yarn (about 55 yards/optional) to create this chic pattern.

It is knit with size 10.5 strait and circular needles which will cause all of your stitches to disappear after you have felted your clutch. The finished bag measures 8.5 inches wide by 4 inches deep and about 8.5 to 9 inches high. I easily carry around my 2 average sized wallets, my cell phone, 3 mini photo albums and sunglasses within this purse.

You can find the handles at most craft stores and everyone's favorite superstore. My personal favorite are these awesome little black plastic bamboo handles from Darice.com. They are very on trend and retail for around $5.00 for a pair. I have even found them on Ebay!

The bag is designed to sit upright on its base. I hate it when my purse tips over:)

It is an advanced beginner level pattern...you will use strait needles for the entire project. Some simple seaming is required and I have written a full set of instructions with an illustration on how to get the most professional look possible. There is also a stitch guide provided. AND you can always contact me via email if you need any extra help:)

The main model in this listing was knit using random stripes and I just love the results. Each color was knit for 2 rows. I chose to make the side's stripes NOT match the front panels so that you could see how it is put together. It is very simple to make your stripes match up if you wish as shown in my denim blue and brown model.

The pattern provides you with easy to follow step by step instructions to create the basic shape. YOU WILL DECIDE ON what color(s) you want to work with and the extra embellishments (for example: stripe details and buttons).

You will use size 10.5 needles and 650 yards of worsted weight wool.

The U- shaped handles are easy to find here on ebay and at most craft stores:)

I thought outside of the "BOXEY" for this bag.

A fun spin on the classic round barrel bag silhouette. It's dimensions are approximately 12" long X 6" high X 5.5" deep after felting. Of course the dimension will vary a bit based on your knitting style and yarn selections.

The pattern is 8 pages. Shopping lists, stitch guides, detailed instructions, photographs and TIPS! I LOVES ME SOME TIPS! Ways to saving money on the handles or straps, time saving shortcuts, blocking tricks, embellishment ideas, some helpful zipper advice and a fun way to add a touch of whimsy to your Boxey.

You have 2 zipper options for this bag: inside or outside. Its up to you.

There are 2 sizes for kids and grownup kids.

I’ve included a simple stretchy “hat” formula which can be knit in any weight of wool with the pattern.

OTHER Hat variations and embellishment ideas are included such as :
Use ANY felted hat pattern for your snowman just cut the crown off of it and add some grommets.
OR
Use a store bought hat. Just make sure you can cut the crown off of it.
OR
You could knit up any stretchy hat pattern and Bind Off before knitting the CROWN portion. Bind it off loosely!
OR
(I love this one and WILL be buying one). Use a straw hat sold at craft stores sell for dried floral arrangements and trim the crown off)
OR
Let the little guy be a baldy….but maybe knit him a mini scarf or ear muffs:) Be fearless and have some fun with this guy:)

The only skills you need to create this beautiful bag are the ability to knit, purl and sew a few simple seams together. I looked and looked for a really good felted tote pattern that uses novelty fur along the top. Every one called for the fur to be knitted into the body of the bag which made the fur look like really bad hair plugs! So, I decided to create my own.

The OPTIONAL fur along the top of some of the models is attached to the bag with one round of knitting...after that it hangs loosely like a lush boa. The pockets are ideal for: baby bottles, water bottles, cell phones, sunglasses and car keys!!! If I am in a rush, I leave my bag at home because I get complimented and questioned about these totes EVERY single time a carry one out in public!!! You will too!!

This bag will also maintain it shape at the rim because you will add a simple elastic band inside the tote's top. This also keeps your goodies from falling out every time you put your tote down. Because it is constructed of 3 pieces sewn together it has a more structured and elegant look than the others out there.

As for as color combinations go, the only limit is your imagination.
