On the front side I have affixed an old watch face and antique brass sparrow; the other side has feather edging and engraved monogram GLL.

He holds the lock on my heart......a fantastically old and peeling keyhole sits front and center paired with a small vintage brass heart charm and a "diamond" ring rescued from a trip to the antique barn. A chandelier crystal, sparkly goldstone and vintage chain finish the design.

Vintage crystal was salvaged from a chandelier that hung in the DuPont Hotel in Wilmington, DE from 1906 through the 1970's. Imagined the memories it looked down upon!

Goldstone is a synthetic gemstone that was invented by accident in the 19th century and contains thousands of shiny flecks that shimmer like little stars!

Here an old, rescued vintage portrait pendant hangs from a long vintage gold plated chain that is interspersed with vintage and glass beads and faux pearl links. This necklace looks great layered with others.

So...who is that girl?
The portrait featured on the pendant is actually a Peter Paul Rubens painting entitled Portrait of Susanna Lunden ("Le Chapeau de Paille") which was painted between 1622-25 and hangs in the National Gallery in London. Susanna was the older sister of Helen, Ruben's second wife and the portrait is believed to be a betrothal or marriage portrait. (The National Gallery, Companion Guide)
