This rather wild tam was my first attempt at freeform crochet. It has a swirled pattern on the crown, with a blue border and brown and green on the outer edge, which culminates in a number of curled leaf shapes which extend from the outer edge of the tam. The leaves are firmly attached, but will flutter if the breeze picks up. The side edge of the tam is mostly blue, with a thin stripe of the brown/green yarn. The edge is a crocheted rib, for added flexibility. The hat is made of acrylic yarns.

Dimensions: Diameter of hat (not including leaves) measures 10 ¾ inches; when flat, hat opening measures 8 ½ inches wide, but will stretch to over 12 inches. Hat fits comfortably on my 21 ½ inch head.

Materials: Acrylic yarns

Washing instructions: Theoretically, this hat should be machine washable, but because of the leaves I don't recommend it unless you put it inside a mesh bag to protect the leaves from being caught in the agitator. Preferably, it should be hand washed in warm water, and dried flat.

This hand knit cap, with its pattern of corrugated ribs that flow together at the crown, is made of a blue, teal, and purple handspun merino yarn, with ribs of handspun “mystery fiber” yarn (mostly wool, but with random other fibers, including a little glitz, carded in as well) in shades of bluegreen and teal, and a bit of handspun cream mohair at the border. This is more or less a “beanie” style cap.

Dimensions: Hat opening measures about 10 1/2 inches across when lying flat, but will stretch to over 12 inches; depth from center of crown to brim is 7 inches.

I was inspired to try using multiple yarns stranded together to make a thick, ribbed scarf after reading an article in a recent magazine. I designed this scarf while playing with multiple yarns held together. Pictures probably won't do these scarves justice, because what makes them special is the interplay of colors, textures, and sheen. What makes this scarf one-of-a-kind is its unique combination of yarn colors and textures. This particular scarf is made up of blues, greens, reds, yellows, oranges, purples—pretty much all the colors of the rainbow, all intermingled with a deep teal. It contains angora, merino wool, acrylic, rayon, polyester, nylon, polyamide, and a combination of shiny ribbon yarn, and furry, matte, smooth, bumpy and fuzzy novelty yarn. The colors remind me of a riot of spring flowers! My daughter loves this scarf pattern because the scarves are so squeezable and cushy. This scarf is reversible, so it doesn't matter which side is up.

Dimensions: About 50 inches long by 3 3/4 inches wide (6 3/4 inches at widest point of flare); one flared edge is slightly wider than the other.

Starry Sky Fair Isle Knitted Cap ooak

This cap is hand knitted from my original design, using handspun yarns. It has been fulled somewhat to create a denser fabric. The cap has a ribbing of a handspun variegated blue and purple merino/mohair/nylon yarn; the subtle fair isle patterning on the side is an interlocking fir tree pattern, with green merino/mohair handspun yarn for the trees, and handspun teal merino/tencel yarn for the background; and the crown is a fair isle pattern with white mohair/wool stars against the same yarn as the ribbing. The mohair gives the cap a slight halo. This cap is a combination of shiny/matte, fuzzy/smooth. It is the style of cap which comes down over the ears, and is actually a little taller than I had intended, so I have turned up the ribbing to make it a bit shorter. If you like a taller cap, you can turn the rib back down. In the photos, you can see a green border just above the ribbing on the pictures with the rib turned down.

Dimensions: 10 ½ inches wide when lying flat, but will stretch to over 12 inches; 9 inches tall when lying flat with rib folded down; 7 ¾ inches tall with rib folded up.

Dark Bluegreen Knitted Scood

This “scood” is a cross between a scarf and a hood. I designed it so that it can be worn around the neck like a scarf, or it can be pulled up over the head like a hood. Some of my customers describe it as a “babushka”. Each end of the scood has a doubled piece of ribbing that creates a slot, with a fan shape below it. To fasten the scood, just pull the “fan” of one side through the slot of the other side, and the scood will be securely fastened. This scood is hand knitted in a ridged pattern, with lace “fans” and crocheted shell edging.

This hand knitted scood is made from a dark, slightly heathered bluegreen blend of acrylic and wool.

Dimensions: Approximately 16 inches from front to back; 20 inches from side to side (from chin, over top of head, to other side of chin) but will stretch to 28 inches; fan shapes are approximately 7 inches high by 6 inches wide.

This lovely bag is perfect for storing your hosiery or other delicate items. The body of the bag is crocheted of a lilac blend of angora and wool, which is very soft, and the bag is lined with a rose colored lining fabric, which is hand-stitched in place. The bag has a lacy crocheted flap made of the same yarn in black, and it fastens with a large heart-shaped button. Delicate and feminine, it would make a wonderful gift!

This shade has been difficult to duplicate in the photos. I would describe the bag as a dusky lilac, with a dusky rose lining and black trim.

This bright pink felted knitted bag has a unique flared shape, and a V-shaped flap that is fastened by a bead drop. The bag has side gussets to make it extra roomy, and is lined with a pastel pink fabric. It has two straps which are long enough to fit over your shoulder (see photo), or the bag can be carried in your hand or draped over your wrist. While I could duplicate this bag, I probably won't, as the lining was difficult to fit to the bag. So it will likely end up a one of a kind piece.

Dimensions: Lying flat (with the gussets folded in), the bag measures 15 inches across at its widest point, and 9 inches at its narrowest. At its shortest point, bag measures 7 ¼ inches from base to top opening. Straps loop up to about 6 inches from top of bag, but will stretch to about 8 inches from top of bag to inside edge of strap.

This decorative piece will look great with your Christmas outfit, and can be worn several different ways, according to your whim. Made of soft wool yarns in a dark bluish green and bright red, it looks like you are wearing a string of holly around your neck—but it’s much more comfortable! The curly scarf is made up of spiraling “leaves” and punctuated at intervals with red holly “berries”. It can be worn in the following ways:

1)Drape the scarf around your neck with one end forward and one back, traditional scarf style.
2)Place the middle of the scarf at the front of your neck, and wrap both ends around behind your neck and back to the front again.
3)Tie the scarf loosely at the front, either high up near your neck, or down as far as you like. (Careful…because of its curls, this scarf can be tricky to un-tie, once you get it tied!)

This is a glitzy scarf, made with several gorgeous novelty yarns. The yarns are a wonderful combination of matte/shiny and smooth/fuzzy, with a little metallic thrown in as well. This was such fun to knit! The slipped stitches blend the colors together and avoid a “stripey” effect.

This sweet little lace pouch is crocheted in an open lace pattern, using white cotton crochet thread, and has a white satin lining fabric hand stitched in place. The matte, somewhat creamy white crocheted lace is beautiful against the shiny bright white satin fabric. A short strap of white satin ribbon draws the bag closed, and allows it to hang gracefully from the wrist. Just the thing to hold keys, ID, lipstick, or other small items during the wedding or reception!

Note: I knotted the wrist strap to allow for a largish hand to pass through; if strap is too long the knot can be loosened and moved closer to the bag.

This hat is knitted of the same materials as the Furry Multicolored Red Crescent Wrap, and matches it very well.
The body is knitted with two strands, one of the multicolored mohair/wool/nylon yarn and one of the red cotton/rayon ribbon yarn, with the crown knitted of the red cotton/rayon ribbon yarn, and a rim of variegated red polyester eyelash yarn near the brim. It is edged in the same crocheted crab stitch edging as the Wrap.

Dimensions: When flat, the hat opening measures 10 ½ inches, but will stretch to 13 inches. From crown to brim measures approximately 8 ¼ inches. This hat fits slightly loosely on my 21 ½ inch head. This bright and beautiful wrap is hand knitted of a mohair/wool/nylon blend multicolored yarn, a solid red cotton and rayon blend ribbon yarn, and a variegated red polyester eyelash yarn. The three combine beautifully to make a stunning wrap. This wrap is knitted in a crescent shape, with a shiny, furry red collar at the center, and shiny furry red trim at the lower edge. It has a crocheted crab stitch edging all around.

Wear this unique wrap in a number of ways: With both ends hanging down and curling or folding, pinned with a shawl pin or loosely draped; with one end wrapped to the back and the other hanging in front; or with one end tucked under at the shoulder, and the other wrapped over to the back; see photos.

This hat is cushy and comfy because of the horizontal “ribs” in the knitted fabric. The yarns are a bright royal blue Peruvian wool and a teal acrylic/polyester yarn, and the colors are actually slightly darker than they appear in the photos . The hat is very stretchy, and it would work well for tucking your hair up into. The puffy ribs create extra air insulation.

Dimensions: When flat, this hat measures 10½ inches across the opening, but the edge will stretch to over 14 inches. The height when flat is 7 ½ inches, but it will stretch to over 14 inches also. This makes the hat very versatile—it can be “slouched” a bit to the back or the side, or patted against the head so that it is a bit more form-fitting. It should also fit a wide range of head sizes.

This hat and scarf set is made of Peruvian wool in red and blue. The striking design is made of double knitted corrugated rib, with the colors reversed on the reverse side of the fabric. Dimensions: When flat, the hat measures 11 ¼ inches across opening and is 7 ¾ inches high; hat is felted, so it is not terribly stretchy. It fits snugly on my 21 ½ inch head. The stocking has I-cord trim along its top edge, which also forms a hanging loop. The yarn is composed of wool and mohair.

I love to learn new techniques, and was inspired at a recent guild meeting to revisit this technique, which I had played with before but had never actually utilized in a project. I was very impressed with this striking diamond pattern, and decided to incorporate it in a hat design. Twined knitting is a Swedish technique, and it involves using two strands of yarn which alternate throughout the pattern. This forms short strands across the back of the fabric, which makes the fabric a bit thicker and sturdier than regular knitted fabric. I love the use of “crook stitches” to create rich texture in this technique.

The cream-colored cap has a band of interconnected diamonds along its lower edge, with a larger textured diamond pattern above it. The top of the hat has textured strips that radiate out from the center, and it is topped with a tassel. The hat is very soft and warm. Because of the cashmere content, I suspect that this cap may develop a bit of a halo over time.

Dimensions: When flat, the hat measures 10 inches across open edge, but will stretch to over 14 inches. From crown to brim measures 7 ½ inches. The cap is designed to come down over the ears.

Brown Striped Needle Case from Recycled Wool

This needle case is made of brown and tan striped recycled wool, and stitched with handspun grayish-brown wool yarn from a Lincoln ram named Curly. The Lincoln fiber has a slight sheen to it. When this case is opened, it lies flat. You catch the needles into the felted fabric on the inside center of the case, and fold the bottom third up and the top part down to close the case. It has a sparkly tan button closure. I use this type of case for most any needle up to 2 1/2 inches long: sewing needles, yarn needles, even beading needles if they fit. Longer needles can be placed diagonally on the fabric to fit them in easier. I try to keep one in each of my project bags, so I always have a small assortment of needles with me.

Dimensions: When closed, 3 inches wide by 3 ¼ inches tall; When open, 9 ¼ inches long. About 5/8 inch thick when closed.

This sweet teddy is hand knitted from handspun Border Leicester wool and Shetland wool yarn. The Border Leicester gives him a fuzzy but almost silky feel, and a slight halo. The bear is stuffed with wool fiber. His facial features are embroidered, and he has a little embroidered nub of a tail. I have made a number of these, but each one turns out to have its own personality, due to differences in fiber, yarn, embroidery and felting.

This is not a toy for a baby, but would make a cute decoration for a child's room, and could be played with by an older child. He sits well if he has something behind him for support.

Dimensions: Teddy sits about 3 ¼ inches high and is about 3 inches wide at widest point.

The scarf is a darker pumpkin shade on one side, and a lighter pumpkin rimmed with dark on the other side. The scarf is made with a soft alpaca/wool blend yarn, and it has a delightful flared scallop at each end.

Original Design

This thick, warm, soft, reversible cap is made of a soft alpaca/wool blend yarn. It is made using a double knitting technique in which both inside and outside are created at the same time, in different shades of pumpkin.

The cap literally consists of two layers of ribbed knitted fabric (one a dark pumpkin shade, and the other a lighter shade with a darker border at the bottom), which are joined together during the knitting process. A ribbed border was added to the lower edge, and a rolled brim completes the edging. This cap is very warm because of the two layers and the fibers used. The edging pulls it in a little at the lower edge for a snug fit.

Dimensions: When flat, lower edge measures 9inches across, but will stretch to over 12 inches; cap measures 8 1/4 inches from crown to lower edge.

This fun, assymetrical bag is crocheted of synthetic novelty yarns, in an organic, freeform style. The front and back of the bag are different, but have roughly the same shape. The bag has a roughly rectangular flap which folds over the opening to close the bag. The flap has a flower affixed. When the flap is opened, it reveals a rounded, scalloped pattern. I have lined the bag with a light pink fabric. The bag has a crocheted strap. The bag is made of mostly synthetic yarns in shades of blue, mauve, and rose. It has lots of texture, shape and color interest.

Textured Knitted Womens Medium Vest in Cream Color

This highly textured vest was originally designed for my daughter, but when completed turned out to be longer than she wanted. It is a lovely combination of twisted stitch, bobble, and lace techniques in a combination of leaf and flower motifs, with seed stitch panels at the sides and a pointed edging at the bottom. The neck and armhole openings are edged in I-cord for a very finished look, and the vest fastens at the bustline with a decorative silver-colored hook and eye type closure.

The yarn used for this is a fairly soft acrylic/wool blend in a natural cream color.

The sizing on this vest is a bit open, because the fabric, mostly consisting of vertical knit panels alternating with purl panels, is rather rib-like. Thus, while it fits nicely on my model, who is fairly petite, it will also stretch quite a bit to fit someone quite a bit larger. I believe that it will easily fit Misses sizes 10-14, and it might even be wearable by a size 8 or a size 16.

Bust: About 35 inches relaxed, but will stretch much wider (well over 42 inches)

This charming little bag would be a fun purse for a little lady, or could be used by a grownup lady, too. The strap is just long enough to fit over a woman's shoulder (bag will nestle just under the base of the arm). The bag is knitted of several shades of blue wool/mohair blend yarn, and embellished with shiny glass beads in blue, gold, and pale amber. The bag's closure is a bead drop, which pulls through a hole in the flap. When I felted the bag, I left a few tasseled yarn ends, which felted a bit when the purse was felted.

Dimensions: Just under 3 ½ inches wide by 4 inches tall, not counting bead loops; strap is about 20 inches long, looping up about 10 inches from top of bag.

Original Design using Traditional Irish Crochet and Crocheted Lace Techniques

I based the design for this bag on an Irish Crochet motif, which I modified and combined with other lace patterns to form the sides of the wristlet. The bag is lined with a white satin fabric, which creates a lovely contrast of smooth/textured, shiny/matte, and solid/lacy. The bag has a bead drop closure which slips through a loop attached to the back of the purse, and which is made with a combination of milky and pearly beads. The wrist strap is made of white satin ribbon. To complement the handmade lace, the lining of the bag is hand stitched.

Dimensions: Bag measures approximately 6 3/8 inches square; handle loops 5 ¾ inches from top of bag.

Ocean Blues Knitted Short Row Capelet With Lace Edging

This capelet is hand knitted in a short-row pattern, using several ribbon-type novelty yarns. This results in vertical wedge shapes which create a subtle pattern. It has a yoke at the top, with ribbing at the neckline, through which is drawn a navy blue, somewhat shiny ribbon, so that the neckline can be drawn up to the width that you would like. The bottom edge of the capelet is edged with a knitted lace pattern in the darker of the yarns. The yarns used in this piece are an acrylic/nylon ribbon yarn in blue, with black stripes; a rayon/polyester/nylon blend ribbon in dark blue and teal; and a variegated cotton/rayon blend in shades of blue and soft green. The colors blend together well to create a complex but integrated fabric, which drapes well and has lots of texture and a very slight sheen.

Note that this capelet does not open at the front, as some do. This would be a great cover-up for a spring day or a summer evening, adding some warmth but not too much.

Dimensions: 21 ½ inches long; 3 7/8 inches from neckline to bottom of yoke; width at base of yoke is 31 ½ inches, but will stretch to 42 inches; width at top of lace edging is 49 inches, but will stretch to 68 inches. Though very stretchy, I would call this a women's small to medium size.

This was my first attempt at a freeform crochet wall hanging, and it was a lot of fun. I was inspired to create an ocean scene, so many of the shapes were crocheted purposefully, rather than purely randomly. I used many different yarns in this piece, quite a few from my stash of handspun yarn, and also some commercially spun yarns, including novelty yarns. The scene contains shell shapes, swimming fish, part of a starfish, and a sea anenome, as well as swirls and waves. Some of the shapes were crocheted as part of the fabric, others were crocheted separately and appliqued in place. Colors include blues, teals, magentas, lavenders, purples, oranges and greens. Fibers used include wool, ramie, cotton, silk, and synthetics. The hanging is suspended by a wooden rod with caps on each end, which has a crocheted wool loop attached to the end caps. This piece is a one of a kind work of art, with many hours of labor resulting in a piece created with lots of attention to detail.

Dimensions: Approximately 9 ½ inches wide (width varies a bit, as this piece was crocheted in a freeform style and is not perfectly uniform) by 16 ½ inches from top of rod to lower edge of hanging. Wooden rod measures about 11 ½ inches long. Hanging loop is about 6 inches from rod at highest point.

This crocheted lace doily is a reminder of times past. Note that it is not antique or vintage, but a newly crocheted doily, made from my original design, using Victorian techniques. The pattern, designed as I crocheted, combines openwork areas with solid areas and some bullion stitches for extra texture. This skinny scarf is knitted with a reversible cable technique that allows it to be completely reversible. No more worries about the wrong side facing out! The two sides are virtually identical. The cable is edged with garter stitch ribs, and the two ends of the scarf are bordered in a brown knitted rib. The yarn used for the body of the scarf is a glowing wool/soy combination in shades of brown, rust, pumpkin, a dark denim-y blue, and a brownish maroon. The soy gives the yarn a lovely sheen. The brown yarn used for the border rib is a Peruvian wool.

This doily is a lacy combination of a number of fancy crochet stitches: clusters, shells, post stitches, lacets, and horizontal puff stitches, which give it a wonderful texture. It is made of size 10 crochet thread in a natural cotton shade (somewhere between white and ecru). The pattern is my own design, and consists of a flower in the center surrounded by four shell and lacet segments ( the cross) which are connected by four fan shapes. The effect is very lacey and yet textural, and as you can see, it looks great against a wood grained background. The doily has been wet-blocked to hold its shape, but is not starched, so it is still soft and drapey. It looks great alone, or place a vase in the center.

I designed this doily especially for this lovely handspun ramie fiber. Ramie is a natural plant fiber which has a bit of sheen to it. The yarn is smooth, but is spun loosely enough to have a slight halo effect. The fabric is quite drapey; I do not stiffen my crocheted lace as a general rule, just wet-block it so it holds its shape. The pattern of this doily, with its shells and bullion stitches, shows off the sheen of the yarn beautifully.

This tam is hand knitted from an acrylic/wool yarn in rose and cream. It has a corrugated rib at the lower edge, and a ring of hearts around the top. It is topped with a tassel.

Dimensions: Opening is about 13 inches in circumference when relaxed, but will stretch to over 20 inches. Depth from open edge to center top of tam is 6.5 inches, so the distance from lower edge over top of tam to lower edge would be about 13 inches. To determine if this would fit your toddler, try this: Pinch off the 13 inch point on a tape measure and hold the measured amount of tape over the top of the toddler's head, roughly from ear to ear. Ideally, a tam should “poof out” from the head at the edge of the circular top, so if the ends of the measured tape come just to the place you would like the hat to come down to, the tam would fit more like a stocking cap. If it comes down below that point, it would fit more like a tam. This tam will fit best on a head that is at least 16 inches in circumference; you could measure that as well.

This hat was an experiment that turned out better than I expected. It is knitted mostly in a wool and mohair yarn, with a small amount of eyelash thrown in just for fun. There are greens, browns, red, yellow, blue, gold, and copper colors in the tam. On the "wrong side", I left about 1 inch of yarn of each color free when I felted the hat, and it can be worn inside out with these felted tag ends showing for an even wilder look (see first three pictures). The top of the tam is knitted with short rows in many colors, and the body is worked in a dark bluish green, with yellow and gold stripes at the lower edge.

This lovely hat is hand knitted entirely of soft, handspun wool in blues, teals, purples, greens, and a tiny froth of white at the crown (I believe that a couple of the yarns also contain a small amount of synthetic fiber as well). The fair isle knitted pattern resembles the waves on the ocean. The shape of this hat is toque-like, with fairly straight sides and a very slightly rounded top. It has a diagonal-patterned welt where the sides join the top, and the wave pattern continues to the crown of the hat. The hat is topped off with a tassel using some of the yarns used in knitting the hat.

This tote was inspired by some lovely ocean-colored roving I had spun. It is crocheted with slip stitch and single crochet stitches to make a sturdy but flexible fabric. For the drawstring, I made a ¼ inch flat kumihimo braid with a chain pattern down the center.

Note: The yarns in this bag are a bit reflective, and the colors appear lighter in the photo than they are in reality.

This tote would be great for holding a spindle or a water bottle.

This hat was conceived while I was playing around with the Domino Squares technique. It is made up of elongated squares, which are attached together as they are knitted. There are four of these elongated motifs around the hat, each a different color (blue, red, yellow, purple). There are also four triangles at the bottom of the hat, one in each color. At the lower edge there is a fair-isle checkered band in green and purple, bordered by a light bluegreen ridge, and at the very bottom there is a ridge of red and one of yellow. The hat is topped with a tassel made of the four main colors.

This heart shaped ornament or decoration is made of red felt and is decorated with white heart motifs made in the Romanian Point Lace Technique. Romanian Point Lace is a technique which uses a crocheted cord to outline a design, which is then filled in with various woven and embroidery stitches. Each face of the heart (front and back) is a different pattern.

The heart is made of two pieces, a front and a back, and is stitched together to form a pocket. This would be a great gift bag for a very small, very special gift--perhaps a ring...? Or it could hold a few small pieces of wrapped candy, as shown. The pocket has a 5 inch long loop of green ribbon for a handle.

This handbag is knitted from a lovely combination of a bright raspberry, a muted mottled green, and a muted plum color. I have delayed listing it because it has been so hard to get the colors accurate in the photos. But I have tried to make the colors as accurate as I can on my computer screen. The bag has a navy lining, and features a handle which can be used single for a shoulder strap or doubled to hang from the wrist. When the straps are pulled up, they close the bag. This cap is so soft, you have to feel it to believe it! It is hand knitted of a special angora/merino blend yarn that is extremely touchable. The cap has a pink flower pattern on the crown, and a border of small pink flowers around the side of the cap, edged with a purple wave pattern above and below it. The background color is black. The brim of the cap is a 1 3/4 inch rib panel, which can be turned up as in the photos, or can be turned down for more ear or neck coverage—or turn the front out and the back up (see photos)!. This cap is not only very soft, it should be very warm as well, as angora is a very warm fiber.

Dimensions: When flat, cap measures 10 1/4 inches across, but will stretch to over 13 inches; from crown to brim measures approximately 6 ½ inches with brim folded up, and 7 ½ with brim folded down.

Multicolored Knitted Short Row Tam from Handspun Wool and Alpaca

This tam is hand knitted from two handspun yarns, a black alpaca yarn and a multicolored wool yarn. The top is knitted using short rows to create the striking pattern, and the body is knitted in stockinette stitch. There is a corrugated rib band at the bottom, with a cabled edging of attached i-cord in each color. This tam is quite drapey, because of the alpaca fiber, and it is meant to flop to the side or the back when worn. The overall effect is sort of like a stained glass window, with the ridges and panels of color set off by the black ridges.

Dimensions: Outer diameter of tam is 12 inches; circumference of opening is about 15 ½ inches, but will stretch to about 26 inches.

Fair Isle Knitted Colorful Corrugated Ribbed Cap from Handspun Wool

This cozy warm cap is knitted from a cream-colored handspun Shetland wool, and a lovely multicolored (teal, orange, gold, green, blue, purple) handspun wool yarn, knitted in a corrugated rib pattern. The ribs create an inverted “V” pattern when they reach the crown.
Dimensions: When flat, hat opening measures 9 ¾ inches, but will stretch to over 12 inches; from crown to brim measures 7 inches but will stretch to well over 8 inches. On my 21 ½ inch head, the cap fits comfortably, and just covers my ears (16 inches from bottom of ear, over head, to bottom of ear).

The shiny ribbon yarn in this scarf glows against the matte heathered blue yarn and the soft sheen of the wool/soy yarn which edges it. The combination of bright colors and earth tones reminds me of the bright clear days of
autumn, with the browns, golds and oranges against the deep blue sky. This scarf also contains a mohair blend yarn which has some other bright colors such as pink and teal, and which has a bit of sparkle as well. The scarf is crocheted in a slightly open stitch which allows the yarns to mingle well. The short edges are finished with a drapey fringe.

Dimensions: Body of scarf measures approximately 47 inches by 3 ½ inches, not including fringe.

Silky Silvery Knitted Cap

This cushy cap is made using a stranded knitting technique. The yarns used are a silvery gray, somewhat shiny eyelash yarn, and a variegated gray thick wool yarn. The two yarns create a thick, soft, somewhat cushy fabric which has a nice sheen, with the matte gray yarn showing through in the pattern areas. The hat is tall enough to cover the ears nicely, so it should keep its wearer toasty warm while looking elegant.
