Hand Made solid paduck Nostepinne

Hand Rubbed Finish

These Nostepinnes are hand turned on my lathe and are smooth sanded, then hand rub finished and polished with a finishing wax. Each pin is approximately 12 inches in length. They are all the same basic design as shown with notches to secure yarn either close to hand or at end of pin. The pin is tapered for easy ball removal. If you are not familiar with how to use a nostepinne just do a search on internet. There are some great sites out their on how to use. I have shown all my nostepinnes in the picture for color comparison. The Padauk is the one all the way on the left. Yarn is not included. Wife tested and approved.

This Swift is hand made from select solid oak and steel hardware.

With pins extended to the furthest position it will make a 68 inch skein and is adjustable to the center most pins for a 26 inch skein. Same high quality as my large swift, just smaller. Wood has been smoothly sanded and finished in Golden Oak finish. Threaded center pin makes for easy assembly and disassembly for transport and storage.

My wife told me spinners/knitters like pretty as well as functional. I designed this swift to meet that need. Functional and furniture grade in one. Ogee routed base and furniture grade finish.

This has received the seal of approval from my wife who is an avid spinner, knitter and crocheter. She has been using the swifts I have made for her regularly for years.

Many people have asked if this needs to be clamped to work. In short, the answer is no. It spins freely so the base does not move when winding off the swift. Complete, Finished and ready to use right from the box! Simple instructions and 6 pins included. Can be used with a ball winder to make yarn balls from skeins or can be used to make skeins by winding on using one of the extra pins as a handle. Yarn Not Included.
