This painting echoes visits to the beautiful hillside town San Gimignano in the heart of the Chianti region of Italy. The town is famous for its numerous towers and wonderful cappuccinos and pastries.

I've used texturing in the foreground fading away to the towers in the distance. I've shown how it would look in a room setting but please note that it is not in proportion to the fireplace.

The wrapped canvas is ready to hang and measures 16x12" and .75" deep.

The idea for this painting has been in my thoughts for some time. It reminds me of the outdoors wood-fired ovens in the Italian coutryside where I've enjoyed many a Sunday lunch.

I've painted this in a quasi- abstract contemporary way and used pastel colours - ice blue, pale green, pinks and soft yellows.
