Fancy! This two sided pendant has a fine filigree look on one side and a sweet pattern on the flip side.

It started out as a handmade hollow bead made from precious metal clay which is hand formed and fired in a kiln. After all the binder burns away there is pure (.999) fine silver. Inside, the heart has been filled with a vibrant blue metallic resin.

The heart is 1-1/4 by 1-1/4 inches and the chain is almost 28 inches long and gives it a pedulous swing!

Miniature birdhouse pendant, bird and charms sculpted from precious metal clay (.999 fine silver).

On the edge of the tiny roof and from the bottom of the house hang London blue topaz faceted briolette and beads as if water were dripping from it after a rain. The reverse of the egg charm reads "OM" and the reverse of the leaf reads "nature" in script.

Birdhouse is 3/4 inch wide at the roof by 3/4 inch tall and hangs on a fancy textured 24 inch snake style sterling silver chain with a swivel clasp. total length of pendant is approximately 3 inches.

Argentium silver is a new formulation of silver that makes a harder silver wire that will hold it's shape.

It's a closed bangle and will fit over a hand that is about 8-1/2 inches around the knuckles. That's the widest point. It can be adjusted to be a bit wider. If you have a very narrow hand, this will be too big for you. Convo me if you'd like a smaller size.

The focal point is a hand made pmc bead (fine silver, .999) with complementary spiral patterns on the top and the bottom. Fine silver wire wrapped details and hammer stamped designs throughout.

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers in the world.

I was experimenting with molds and carved myself three layers. After carefully making each layer in metal clay, I stacked them one on top of the other and fired them together. This is the pin version. It has a very organic quality because the petals are slightly turned up at the tips.

This was the first big heart pin I made from PMC. It measures 1 5/8 by 1 5/8 inches and is approx. 4 mm deep.

First it was carefully patinaed to a lovely bronze color. Small reflective fine silver balls were placed at the bottom of a pool of clear resin. After the resin cured for about 12 - 14 hours, I pressed tiny 22K gold balls onto the surface of the resin, creating a wonderful optical and textural quality.

Can you ever have enough hearts? I made this piece from fine silver precious metal clay. Then I had it cast in sterling silver so that I could do something different with each one. Small reflective fine silver balls sit at the bottom with even more suspended on top of a pool of clear resin. I have attached a large, faceted, deep red burmese ruby with it's own handmade cap and an original fine silver rose charm. The surface of the resin has a wonderful optical and textural quality because of the small silver balls embedded on the surface.

This is a miniature birdhouse sculpted from PMC (metal clay - fine silver) hung on a 25 inch chain beaded with garnets and dyed red pearls. Comes with a 2 1/2 inch sterling silver extender chain. A sweet dainty bird perches atop a branch and on top of the birdhouse which is 3/4 inch wide at the roof by 1 5/16th inch tall. Dangling under the house is a carved green tourmaline leaf bead and a small leaf charm. On the bottom on the house is carved the word happiness in a whimsical script.

This necklace is in the first PMC Annual 2007, as the work of one of 57 artists showcasing metal clay. It was also included in an exhibit of the same artists at the most recent PMC Conference held in July of 2008 at Perdue University in Indiana.

Maybe it's an identity crisis but I doubt it.

I made this bracelet because I love these color changing crystals. They are big 8mm faceted glass beads and they're light blue under artificial light and lavender under natural light. Interspersed among these changeable colors are beautiful silver elements I've handmade of fine silver: a coin shaped charm connector, an oval nubbly bead, a detailed tube bead next to a couple of purple pearls, a tiny bead cap and 6 silver spacer rings. I found a granulated sterling silver lace bead and a fancy sterling granulation safety clasp and that makes it all the more interesting.

Bracelet is 9 inches long and connector is almost 7/8 inch in diameter. If it is too big, I can adjust it to a smaller size if you convo me about it.

I love hearts. I originally made this piece from fine silver precious metal clay. Then I had it cast in sterling silver so that I could do something different with each one. Small reflective fine silver balls sit at the bottom with pacific opal swarovski crystals. I have attached a swarovski crystal fireball with the same pacific opal color and then an original fine silver bird with a 14K white gold loop for strength. After the resin has cured for about 12 - 14 hours, I pressed more fine silver balls onto the surface of the resin, creating a wonderful optical and textural quality.

I was asked to make some beads from metal clay. So I made a set of 12 beads that were complementary to each other and had the versatility to be worn on either side. I love being able to choose the side depending on the way I feel on a given day.

This necklace is made up of a big focal two sided heart shaped bead that is hollow. The bead itself measures 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches. The other two beads are 3/4 x 3/4 inch and hold a gorgeous swirly aqua metallic resin. Hanging from the pendant are two connected swarovski crystals in a green color called 'erenite' that matches the resin. Holding it all together is a handcrafted fine silver chain and clasp. The pendant is 3 1/2 inches with connecting link and the chain is 25 inches. One of a kind.

Heliotropic Imagination brooch

According to the Random House Unabridged Dictionary, heliotropic means "turning or growing toward the sun". That's what the flower in the center of this brooch symbolizes.

I made one of these hearts from precious metal clay and had it cast in sterling silver so that I could do many different things with it. My ideas were bursting and this is one of the designs that came from it.

I soldered a pin back finding onto the back. I added a black patina and polished it, attached some very small fine silver balls I made and some tiny heliotrope colored swarovski crystal rhinestones to the bottom, poured some very clear resin into it and then after 14 hours I pressed more fine silver balls into the top of the hardening surface for the resin to grab onto them. Every element conspires to give this brooch a lovely and interesting optical quality.

Brooch is about 1-1/2 inches tall, 1-5/8 inches wide, almost 4mm deep and made of sterling silver.

Effects are one of a kind.

I found these old Tibetan turquoise beads in a funky little shop called "Rubaiyat" in the town of Mendocino, California. Ruby's the owner and she is a lovely red headed woman who would chat with me while I looked at everything in her shop as big as my bedroom but packed with treasures. She told me she's going to Tibet again and I wish I was going.

So then I gathered the elements of this bracelet over a few years. Some viking knit and a pmc charm with a branch pattern on it I made, and some bali style beads and findings and some deep orange carnelian the true color of Ruby's hair. It reminds me of a rain forest.

I've been in a long phase of making my own beads. Metal clay really lends itself to experimentation and is a very interesting medium because it's clay when you form something and then it's solid silver when it's done being processed.

I started making beads and bead caps using any texture I could find and adding in little graphic elements so I could make something I had never seen before, except in my own head. This is my first assembled necklace and it is a collage of shapes, textures and even a bit of complementary colors; the pale sea blue larimar nugget, the dusky lavender blue faceted chalcedony bead and the small tanzanite beads at each end call to your eye. It's a pleasing experience. Beads, bead caps, toggle and loop are all handmade by me and mixed with some sterling silver chain, wire and a sprinkle of bali spacers.
