Handpainted 60% merino/ 40% bamboo combed top. This blend has a truly unique hand. The merino is puffy and squishy, and the bamboo is sprinkled throughout in a streaky manner. Very cool, and sure to be an interesting spinning experience, both visual and tactile.

Handpainted 50% merino/25% bamboo/25% tussah silk combed top.
Similar to my 60/40 merino bamboo blend, but even more special. The bamboo does not take the dye, leaving silvery strands throughout. Combine this with the colored iridescence of the dyed silk, and the soft, squishy, elastic merino, and you have something really special.

Purple fuchsia, saffron and paprika red, all allowed to blend a bit at the edges. A warm and cheerful colorway.

Barn red, slate blue, teal, brown, and creamy white. Your yarn will be high energy, and have very interesting stripy sections with this colorway.

Knit from the bottom up, the sample is knit with Cascade 220 Heathers, one of my most favorite yarns to work with.
Sized for adults average.

Finished size: 23" circumference.

You will need:
About 3 ½ – 4 oz yarn (200-220 yds total), in 5 colors (Cascade 220 Heathers, 100% wool, used for sample)
A set of dbl pt and a 16” circular needle, US #7/ 4.5 mm, or size to meet gauge.

-For the Earflap Hat only, a size I crochet hook

A KNITTING PATTERN

Knit from the top down, with no need for a pre-knitting gauge swatch! This pattern will work with almost any yarn, from fingering to chunky.

Sized for adults average.

This pattern is an excellent way to use a skein of handspun yarn, for two reasons. First, handspun yarn is expensive, and sometimes quite fragile. You do not need to knit a gauge swatch, so there is no potential waste of the precious handspun yarn. Second, the stockinette crown with fully fashioned decreases, and the seed stitch body, will show the unique color variations to best advantage.

Sample knit with 2 balls of "Rythm", available at www.jojoland.com, with size 5 US needles.

You will need:

About 100 gms yarn, your choice (worsted 200-220 yds)
A set of double point and 16# circular knitting needles, in a size appropriate for the yarn you are using.
3 buttons, 5/8 to 7/16 inch.
