Just the thing for a little corner that needs some spring. This delightful garden of flowers was created using many of my collection of hand carved stamps. It is glazed in a sunny semi transparent yellow glaze that varies in thickness to highlight all the detail in this piece.

This wall tile is ready to hang with a sawtooth hanger epoxied firmly to the back. Glazed stoneware is durable and waterproof, making it the ideal art for bathrooms and kitchens where other art might take a beating.

The tile measures 8x6x.5" or 21x15x1cm.

This intriguing little vase is the little black dress of the flower arranging world.

You can dress it up for a formal event or go casual on the picnic table. It has a striking graphic presence that only requires one big bloom to look fabulous or it can be hidden completely by stuffing it with everything your cutting garden has to offer. Transition easily through the seasons with pansies, sunflowers, mums and winter greens. Add a pillar candle for a fabulous centre piece. Leave it on the table during dinner -your guests won't have to dodge a tall vase to converse across the table or worry about knocking it over passing the primavera. Spoon Rest / Handmade Pottery

So you've stirred that bright red tomato-y spaghetti sauce and you need a place to put the messy spoon until you need it again -but you don't want to mess up your stovetop -how about a Spoon Rest!? Also handy for tea bags...

This simple little piece of pottery is a time saver supreme -get it as messy as you like and just stick it in the dishwasher or sink with the rest of the dishes -no more messy stove!

Smooth shiny red and white glaze combination.

Measures 5.5x5x1" or 14x13x2.5cm.

Just a note about shipping -I know it is disconcerting to see a shipping rate for as much or more than the item. Unfortunately, that is the way things go with Canada Post for small items. Fortunately, small items combine well with other pieces. A spoon dock will never add more than $5 to a North American multiple piece order. In fact, I can ship three spoon docks to the US for just $14 -so check to see which of your friends has a messy stove and pick out a few!

These bowls are carefully thrown to be lightweight and well balanced. The rims are labouriously embellished with my own hand-carved stamps for that handmade touch we all love.

The exterior glaze is a luscious satin matte cream glaze that begs to be caressed. The interior is a greenish-blue easy-to-clean shiny glaze. The variegated rim is glazed in spring green that picks out the stamps beautifully.

Garlic Grater / Handmade Wheel Thrown Pottery

A handy gadget for gourmets, this little dish will grate your garlic to a smooth puree. Scrape the puree into your recipe, rinse the grater and wash easily in the sink or dishwasher. To use the dish as a bread dipper, just stir olive oil and a pinch of dried hot pepper in with the garlic puree and dip away! Yummm.

Also useful for grating fresh gingerroot, chocolate, nutmeg, or hard cheese (not all at once, please!)

A celebration of sweet, this tiny handmade pottery vase is the perfect foil for all colours of flowers.

I have been exploring flowing glazes, blending them together and applying them over carved detail. This little vase is a perfect example of the great results I have been getting. The exterior is glazed with a glossy, deep pale blue that looks like blown glass and the interior glossy pink glaze overlaps the rim and flows down creating lavender halos as it goes. So pretty!

The smoothness of the deep teal glaze on this elegant handmade pottery jar makes me want to caress it. A sculpted tendril of clay forms the knob of the lid. The rim and knob have touches of a fascinating variegated glaze that creates new patterns every time I use it. The interior is glazed with a water tight aqua glaze making the jar suitable as a pet cremains urn and as a flower vase.

This jar is part of my ongoing explorations using natural forms as decorative features on functional forms.

French Butter Dish / Handmade Pottery

Always have soft, spreadable butter at the ready in this handmade pottery butter dish!

Very simple to use... Pack the top/lid with softened butter. Fill the base partially with water to create a seal when the lid is inverted into it. Add a sprinkle of salt to the water if the butter is unsalted. Change the water every 3-5 days for freshness. Leave at room temperature. Serve soft butter right from the lid.

Not recommended for use during the hot summer months in non-air conditioned homes –the butter will become too soft and slide right out!

This two piece butter dish is glazed in a smooth shiny powder blue.

Assembled, the exterior measurements are 4.5x4.5x4.5 or 12x12x12cm and it holds 1/2lb of butter.

A dainty and elegant bowl -worthy of your richest mousse or rarest gelato. Handmade pottery is also good for making supermarket ice cream and desserts from a box seem both rich and rare!

This bowls is carefully thrown to be lightweight and well balanced. The rim is labouriously embellished with my own hand-carved stamps for that handmade touch we all love.

The exterior glaze is a luscious satin matte cream glaze that begs to be caressed. The interior is a greenish-blue easy-to-clean shiny glaze. The variegated rim is glazed in spring green that picks out the stamps beautifully.

The bowl measures 5x5x2.5" or 13x13x6.5cm and holds about 1 cup.

This intriguing little vase is the little black dress of the flower arranging world.

You can dress it up for a formal event or go casual on the picnic table. It has a striking graphic presence that only requires one big bloom to look fabulous or it can be hidden completely by stuffing it with everything your cutting garden has to offer. Snowflake Deep Platter in Evening Storm / Handmade Wheel Thrown Pottery

Serve in style with this lovely large plate. The simple elegant shape is complemented by the intricate pattern of decoration and glaze.

The elegant pattern on this piece is created using paper stencil slip resist. This means that I carefully cut the design out of paper and adhere it to the piece while the clay is still moist. Then I paint over it with coloured liquid clay. After it has dried a bit, I pull off the paper stencil to reveal the pattern. The stencil is ruined in the process so each piece must have a unique stencil cut for it -just like snowflakes. The resulting image is a contrast in both colour and texture because the slip adds a small amount of thickness to the surface of the pot.

The glaze used on this piece is Evening Storm, a smooth shiny variegated glaze that is a fabulous complement to food. It ranges from warm brown through deep blue to frosty ice. Layered over the texture created by the paper slip resist, it forms beautiful rivulets of varied colour.

This plate is relatively lightweight for its size and is deeper than my other platters making it suitable for serving pasta or salad.

This plate measures 11.5x11.5x1.25" or 29.5x29.5x1.75cm.

A lovely deep bowl to make serving or eating anything extra special. The glaze interaction on this bowl is just so beautiful. Outside, satiny smooth pale pink glaze melts into cranberry halos around the stamped jade green glaze arabesques. The flowing green rim glaze interacts with the bright speckled blue on the inside and the pink on the outside in a fabulous watery pattern. This lovely square plate will make any little snack look good! It measures 9x9x1" or 23x23x2.5cm.

The heart snowflake design on this piece is created using paper stencil slip resist. This means that I cut a snowflake out of paper and adhere it to the piece while the clay is still moist. Then I paint over it with coloured liquid clay. After it has dried a bit, I pull off the paper stencil to reveal the pattern. The stencil is ruined in the process so each piece has a unique stencil cut for it -just like snowflakes in nature!

This plate is glazed in clear over ivory and subtle pale green/grey designs. This is a very quiet piece that doesn't show it's subtlety well in photos, but I promise you that it is truly lovely.

It measures 9x9x1" or 23x23x2.5cm.

Three little handmade pottery bowls are perfect for all sorts of dips and sauces or to use as prep bowls on those days when you cook like a TV chef.

The exterior glaze is a luscious satin matte cream glaze that begs to be caressed. The interior is a greenish-blue easy-to-clean shiny glaze. The smooth-to-the-lips variegated rim is glazed in spring green. Impressed with my handmade stamps for that individual touch we all love.

Each bowl measures about 4x4x3" or 10.5x10.5x7cm. They are not all the same. Each one holds a bit more than 1 cup.

French Butter Dish / Handmade Pottery

Always have soft, spreadable butter at the ready in this handmade pottery butter dish!

Very simple to use... Pack the top/lid with softened butter. Fill the base partially with water to create a seal when the lid is inverted into it. Add a sprinkle of salt to the water if the butter is unsalted. Change the water every 3-5 days for freshness. Leave at room temperature. Serve soft butter right from the lid.

Not recommended for use during the hot summer months in non-air conditioned homes –the butter will become too soft and slide right out!

This two piece butter dish is glazed in a smooth shiny light spring green.

Assembled, the exterior measurements are 4.5x4.5x4.5 or 12x12x12cm and it holds 1/2lb of butter.

Three sweet little tea light holders to brighten up any corner.

Sturdy and flameproof, made from durable stoneware and coated in a unique combination of glaze and colourant that looks almost like cork.

Each holder measures 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 x 3/4" or 7x7x2cm. You will receive three holders.

I really wanted to include the candles but their weight puts the package into the next shipping category, so rather than charging you an extra $4 shipping I'm going to let you find your own. I recommend looking for the traditional style candles in the thin metal cups. Candles in plastic cups may not fit because they are just a tad bigger.

I can do custom orders for larger quantities of these candle holders. Wouldn't they make great shower favours, co-worker gifts or stocking stuffers?

This handmade pottery salt shaker is the perfect freaky conversation piece for your table or counter.

This carefully handmade and glazed salt shaker features a unique fill-and-shake-from-the-bottom funnel, see the third picture for a close up view. To fill, turn over and pour salt into the funnel. Turn the shaker upright. The salt will be caught between the funnel and the walls. Shake to dispense, some salt will make its way through the top of the funnel and scatter onto your food. Hard to describe, but very easy to use!

A sculpture for your table with a secret use!
