Gustav Klimt (1862-1918; died at age 56) is one of my favorites. This precious mother and child embrace is just a small portion of his stunning "Three Ages of Woman" and oozes so much emotion.

English novelist George Eliot (1819-1880) lived to age 61. Born Mary Ann Evans, she used a pseudonym to ensure that her works were taken seriously. Female authors published freely under their own names, but Eliot wanted to ensure that she was not seen as merely a writer of romances.

These precious pins have a lot to say, so convey how you feel with this well-quoted line of jewelry. The old-fashioned color pallet goes well with whatever you are wearing and the images add a kitschy element of fun as well.

"Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." I think we all could add more to Frank Zappa's simplistic definition, but you really can't argue with the idea of sharing (i.e. selling) your very own art!

My original watercolor artwork for this pin resides on my studio wall. It's the elusive Luna moth. Although they are common throughout the eastern U.S., their night flying habits and short life span as an adult moth, only about 1 week, combine to make them a rare find.

Bought ready-made, the peace sign was handmade with 16 gauge wire. (Etsy's Belles Beads 'n Things http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5318938 )

Upon receiving the peace sign, I took my hammer to it and gave it a textured surface. Then, I hand burnished it for a glimmery finish.

I added a soft green suede lace and a sterling lobster clasp. I created an extender out of sterling rings, so the piece is adjustable to fit different sized wrists.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece and fits an average (7") to a large (8") wrist.

The peace sign measures 35mm in diameter (a quarter is 25mm).

This forked symbol was adopted as its badge by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in Britain, and originally, its use was confined to supporters of that organization. It was later generalized to become an icon of the 1960s anti-war movement, and was also adopted by the counterculture of the time. It was designed and completed February 21, 1958 by Gerald Holtom, a commercial designer and artist in Britain. He had been commissioned by the CND to design a symbol for use at an Easter march to Canterbury Cathedral in protest against the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment at Aldermaston in England.

The symbol itself is a combination of the semaphoric signals for the letters "N" and "D," standing for Nuclear Disarmament. In semaphore the letter "N" is formed by a person holding two flags in an upside-down "V," and the letter "D" is formed by holding one flag pointed straight up and the other pointed straight down. These two signals imposed over each other form the shape of the peace symbol. In the original design the lines widened at the edge of the circle.

This timepiece features carnelian puffy square beads that measure about 10x10mm, that are highlighted with sterling silver beads and finished with a sterling lobster clasp.

The bright color on these rhodolite garnet gems is so pretty. When the light hits them, they just sparkle with color.

The 17" necklace is completed with sterling and Bali beads and a Bali silver toggle clasp. It has presence but it is really not that heavy at all.

The Karen Hill pendant I used to create this necklace came straight from Thailand and straight from the artists who create them. The people of the Hill Tribe even hand forge the stamps used to create the patterns on their pure silver (99.9%) pieces. Just beautiful!

This adjustable necklace (16-18") is done in three very complementary elements.

The color of this Greek leather is called "moose" and is a rich, natural hue. The smaller stones, whose proper name eludes me, are a marble-y brown and the larger coin-shaped stones are actually black amazonite. Black amazonite usually is a pale greenish color with a black and white matrix - these three were outliers in the strand.

The focal piece of the necklace is strung onto a heavy sterling wire that I gave a gentle curve.

All metal is sterling silver.
