A visit to the local farmer's market always results in a new still life painting. This time the italian eggplant is the key player. The italian eggplant is much smaller than the eggplants found in most grocery stores, and is shorter than the Japanese eggplant. For company, the eggplant sits with three peppers. The colors are vibrant and fresh, just like the veges.

The best photos to paint from are photos taken outside on an overcast day. Direct flash photos usually do not transfer well to canvas. The larger the file, the better.
