I think these lampworked dragonfly beads are so adorable! The background is a very dark purple, nearly black.

How unusual are triangle beads? So unusual, that I have to look high and low to find them!

These particular lovelies are jet black rimmed in a golden-colored copper trim. The accent beads are also copper as are the secure-latching earring wires.

The interconnected swirling patterns etched into these copper earrings reminds me of a labyrinth... kind of a Celtic pattern.

Though it's an unusual color combination, I love red and salmon together. They are surprisingly compatible and well off-set by the black glass beads I've used here.

The pendant is a very interestingly cut oval of red agate. I love the way the bands travel diagonally across the piece. The dangle on the pendant is apple coral, repurposed from a broken necklace I picked up somewhere.

The salmon-colored beads are horn with a great crackle, raku type of finish. I've also used some bright copper metal beads.

I'm enthralled with the cut of the pendant on this necklace. Look at the neat banding and swirls possible now!

Some lapidarist (an expert on precious stones, and the art of cutting and engraving them) was thinking outside the box. It looks to me like a cut diagonal to the banding was made, revealing a new look for this stone!

I've also used white baroque stick pearls and some of my favorite cathedral cut glass green glass beads plated in a golden shade of copper.

Did you know that cathedral beads get their name because their glowing facets and brilliant metallic trim are reminders of the beautiful stained glass windows in old churches? Well, there ya go...

Pizzazz is what I call the quality those large black glass and golden copper beads have. It's hard to see in these images because they are so reflective and bright, but the center is a black triangle surrounded by 3 golden copper triangles. I received the brown glass cathedral cut triangular beads the other day and I just HAD to IMMEDIATELY make something with them.

Somehow, this stunning set emerged. I think this set has an ancient Egyptian feel to it. The triangular beads are plated with a very golden-colored copper. I've added some bronze-y colored fresh water pearls in the mix. The wonderful gold-plated scroll beads are from another Etsy shop. Keepin' it Indie!!!

Some people would accuse me of not knowing this! But hey, I live in the land of Henry David Thoreau (Concord, MA) and we know his "Simplify, simplify" philosophy all too well! Yes, it's just mid-Fall in the northern hemisphere, but I have planted my last seeds indoors for our winter vegetable garden, so I remain focused on things verdant...

The beads used in this necklace are VERY special. The tear-drop shaped beads are a gorgeous mixture of green and taupe called "Emperor Stone." It's mixed with glass beads, many of which are plated with a golden copper and cathedral cut to show the aqua green glass beneath.

Can we talk about that gorgeous pendant? It's Variegated Jasper, which hardly describes how lovely it is. I know, many think it's painted with all sorts of tiny patterns, but this is NATURAL. It's 50 mm long, so it's very impressive!

I've been eyeing some cloisonne work for about a year and I finally decided to take the plunge and include them in my jewelry making. This is just one example -- you will find others in my shop, too. I love this modern cloisonne, which both harkens back to the past as well as is more contemporary in style.

This beauty I've just fallen in love with. (Thank goodness people buy my jewelry, otherwise I'd one day be found trapped under the total weight of it all!) Are the flowers stylized white morning glories? Sacred datura? Brugmansia? I don't know, but I'm leaning toward morning glories given the heart-shaped leaves...

I've added glowing olive-colored fresh water pearls, mother of pearl teardrops, plus light brown glass and copper beads. This set has a very art nouveau, vintage feel to it.

This necklace is as useful as it is beautiful. At the end of the long beaded necklace is a lovely magnifying glass (3x magnification) set in sterling and a piece of turquoise (setting is identical on each side of the glass).

This piece is SO unusual! Most of the time, people love to look at and touch them because the lens is so clear and reflects the light, plus the setting is so beautiful. Yet are TOTALLY surprised when I tell them it's a magnifying glass.

3x magnification is really quite helpful -- I find this lens makes all the difference when I'm reading, say, the all-too-fine print on a vitamin bottle. Customers have become really hooked on using these; some wear them EVERY SINGLE DAY because they help them that much. And look SO DARNED LOVELY in the process!

I make these necklaces LONG so you can easily pick up the lens and find your most comfortable and effective position to see through the glass. You need this type of length to use the lens best.

Triangle-shaped beads in all their glory!!!

Have you noticed that triangle shaped beads are hard to find? Try it some time -- they are quite unusual and these are GORGEOUS! If you don't want to be wearing what everyone else is wearing, triangles are the way to go!

It was very funny making this set. It was the first thing I made after a several-week hiatus from jewelry-making. Usually, I try to start out with something simple as a bit of a warm-up. Of course, I never really know what I'm making until it's done. And THIS is the SOMETHING SIMPLE that happened! I had to laugh, knowing if this was the first thing I made after a rest, then this was going to be a VERY interesting series of pieces to follow... and it certain was!

Anyway, the cathedral-cut red glass beads are plated on their edges with a golden-colored copper. The fantastic, each one-of-a-kind gold leaf and red beads are hand-decorated.

The whole thing is finished with some biwa fresh water pearls, glass, and gold plated beads... plus those wonderful spirals!

This necklace is as useful as it is beautiful. At the end of the long beaded necklace is a lovely magnifying glass (3x magnification) set in sterling and a piece of turquoise (setting identical on each side of glass).

This piece is SO unusual! Most of the time, people love to look at and touch them because the lens is so clear and reflects the light, plus the setting is so beautiful. Yet are TOTALLY surprised when I tell them it's a magnifying glass.

3x magnification is really quite a bit up close -- I find this lens makes all the difference when I'm reading, say, the all-too-fine print on a vitamin bottle. Customers have become really hooked on using these; some wear them EVERY SINGLE DAY because they help them that much. And look SO DARNED LOVELY in the process!

This is another entry into my "Royal" series.

I feel like a queen when I tried the necklaces in this series, so I call them "Royal". They sit "just so" over the collar bone and the irregular pieces of mother of pearl give it a lot of movement and texture.

I've also used a combination of wonderful smokey quartz, glass, and bronzed spacers. And what about that wonderful, big Serpentine carving in the center? I love the shape and the olive color!

The matching earrings are quite unusual and use those interesting spiral-y ear wires which I've never seen anywhere else before. They kind of look like dragonflies or butterflies hovering around!

This forget-me-note cameo is hand-crafted, kiln-fired porcelain. How sweet is this image? So nostalgic... You can almost SMELL the flowers!

As a child, I LOVED the floral cameo my mother sometimes wore. Carrying the memory of its lovely image and workmanship -- and being generally besotted by flowers -- I searched and searched but never could find any contemporary source for anything nearly as nice!

The beautiful portrait cameo handed down from my beloved grandmother didn't make matters any better... such beautiful workmanship!

FINALLY, I found a WONDERFUL detail-oriented artisan in Texas who makes the porcelain cameos I use in these wire-sculptures. They are individually made, hand-crafted and kiln fired for both strength and beauty... now how "Etsy" is that??!

Don't you just love the natural markings of Leopard Skin Jasper? The greens, yellows, pinks and blacks? Much more interesting than anything we humans could manufacture!

I've also used Red Jasper in this set, along with silver-plated and glass spacers. The pendant is a very smooth but unpolished marble.
