Moisturizing regularly is essential to healthy skin and choosing a lotion or cream containing a naturally-occurring alpha hydroxy acid helps exfoliate dead skin cells. Alpha-hydroxy acids contained in goat milk are believed to have rejuvenating effects on skin cells and the rich butterfat softens and moisturizes. In addition to goat milk, our creams are made with the moisturizing properties of vitamin E rich sunflower oil, coconut oil and lecithin which are natural phospholipids and fantastic humectants. Therefore, phospholipids increase the hydration levels of the skin without forming a film to prevent water loss and suffocating normal cellular function.

Why use Toxic Shampoo when there are alternatives? An excellent oil for hair, Babussa helps to restore the hair's natural elasticity, making it strong and silky. In addition to it's hair qualities, babussa oil is an emollient with skin moisturizing properties and produces a luxurious creamy body bar. Coconut milk historically has been used to promote silky hair. Use as a shampoo bar, body bar or shaving soap.; rinse with diluted apple cider vinegar as needed.

Success with Shampoo Bars:

Whether you realize it or not your commercial liquid shampoos and conditioners contain synthetic silicones and silica (sand) that coat your hair, to make it "feel" nice, but leaves a chemical residue in your hair. Synthetic silicones are derived from polymers which are soft, plastic, gel-like substances are hard to remove from your hair and scalp. The detergent shampoos with with loads of SLS are also very good at stripping EVERYTHING (even those natural oils we want).

BEFORE you start using shampoo bars (freeing yourself from unwanted chemicals at scalp level) we suggest using a Baking Soda Clarifying Rinse by adding 1 tablespoon baking soda to 1 cup warm water.

OR a Vinegar Rinse. Plain white vinegar will work just fine, Apple Cider Vinegar - ACV - seems to be the favorite hair care vinegar. We suggest using 1 part ACV to 3 parts warm water. Work it into your scalp and let it sit for a moment. This is working on removing the residue from you ?former chemical life':) Rinse, rinse, rinse.

You need to give the shampoo bars about a week to rid your hair of the old residues from your commercial shampoo. During this process your hair may feel stiff or sticky - Don't give up! Work with the rinses listed above in the trasition process - it's worth the effort.

Because shampoo bar soaps do not strip hair in the same way as detergent based shampoos, you may notice your wet hair feeling different after washing than you may be accustomed. This is perfectly normal, you'll love how your hair feels after it dries.

SLS (Sodium Laurel Sulfate) is implicated in premature hair loss in men and women, and may be one reason for widespread incidence of thinning hair. Because SLS is such a caustic cleanser, it actually corrodes the hair follicle and impairs its ability to grow hair. SLES (sodium lauryl ether sulfate) causes dramatic decline in the hair growth cycle, and prolongs the hair loss phase (normally 3 months) by a factor of eight. Simply removing this ingredient, and its corrosive and irritating effects, begins to restore the natural, healthy function of the hair follicle.

SLS is also implicated in scalp irritation, eczema, dandruff, and other scalp conditions. In the book "Good Teeth from Birth to Death" by Dr. Gerard F. Judd, Ph.D., Chemistry and Fluoride Researcher wrote that bar soap was actually one of his recommendations to good strong teeth.

Our personal testimony: After spending years with extremely sensitive teeth, issues with wasting gum and enamel issues, I knew there had to be a better product than the commercial products available. I also didn't want to use fluoride products with my family. I was also noticing that my daughters were brushing away their gum tissue using all natural toothpaste. After thousands in orthodontic work, this was worrisome to us.

A friend of mine began using my handmade soap to brush her teeth and encouraged me to do so. Another health store owner, who carries my soaps, also used my soaps for her teeth and told me how very clean her teeth felt. She also commented that the sensitivity in her teeth was dissipating. She wanted me to pursue making tooth chips for her shop.

Research....I discovered through in the book "Good Teeth from Birth to Death" by Dr. Gerard F. Judd, Ph.D., Chemistry and Fluoride Researcher that bar soap was actually one of his recommendations to good strong teeth.

This is an excerpt from that book: "Re-enamelization of the teeth occurs when they are clean. All toothpaste make a barrier of glycerine on the teeth which would require 20 rinses to get it off. A good solution for clean teeth, which I have used for 5 years, is bar soap. Wet the brush, swipe the bar two or three times with it, then brush the teeth thoroughly and the gums gently. Rinse with water three or four times. All oils are washed off the teeth and the gums are disinfected. The bacteria are killed by the soap. The teeth are then ready for re-enamelization with calcium and phosphate in the diet. The enzyme adenosine diphosphatase delivers phosphate to the enamel surface. Do not use liquid soaps. Their different composition is harmful to the protoplasm.

Re-enamelization is necessary on a daily basis because the enamel leaches slightly with water as well as the bones over decades leading to holey bones and holey teeth even in the absence of acid attack. Without re-enamelization, we could never have good teeth."

Fulfilling the main purpose of any cream - to keep the skin moist - goat milk cream coats your body with skin loving properties and feeds hungry skin cells. Many conventional creams form a suffocating film on the skin to prevent moisture loss which can produce clogged pours and awful results. Even glycerin, which actually attracts water from the air and surrounding tissue, only keeps the skin moist as long as there is sufficient moisture in the air. About Goat Milk and Skin Care:

Goat Milk has been used since ancient times as a natural cleanser. It is one of the finest moisturizers and has excellent emollient properties and contains vitamin A, and several B vitamins including riboflavin, niacin, B6, B12. Why use soap and shampoo when you can roll it all into one delightful bar of soap?

An excellent oil for hair, Babussa helps to restore the hair's natural elasticity, making it strong and silky. In addition to it's hair qualities, babussa oil is an emollient with skin moisturizing properties and produces a luxurious creamy body bar. Orange, Cinnamon & Rosemary essential oils bring a burst of citrus spice fragrance to this bar that is uplifting and invigorating!

Success with Shampoo Bars:

Whether you realize it or not your commercial liquid shampoos and conditioners contain synthetic silicones and silica (sand) that coat your hair, to make it "feel" nice, but leaves a chemical residue in your hair. Synthetic silicones are derived from polymers which are soft, plastic, gel-like substances are hard to remove from your hair and scalp. The detergent shampoos with with loads of SLS are also very good at stripping EVERYTHING (even those natural oils we want).

Before you start using shampoo bars (freeing yourself from unwanted chemicals at scalp level) we suggest using a Baking Soda Clarifying Rinse by adding 1 tablespoon baking soda to 1 cup warm water.

OR a Vinegar Rinse. Plain white vinegar will work just fine, Apple Cider Vinegar - ACV - seems to be the favorite hair care vinegar. We suggest using 1 part ACV to 3 parts warm water. Work it into your scalp and let it sit for a moment. This is working on removing the residue from you ‘former chemical life’:) Rinse, rinse, rinse.

You need to give the shampoo bars about a week to rid your hair of the old residues from your commercial shampoo. During this process your hair may feel stiff or sticky - Don't give up! Work with the rinses listed above in the trasition process - it's worth the effort.

Because shampoo bar soaps do not strip hair in the same way as detergent based shampoos, you may notice your wet hair feeling different after washing than you may be accustomed. This is perfectly normal, you'll love how your hair feels after it dries.

Occasionally, while using the shampoo soap, you will want to rinse with the ACV recipe above. It will condition and leave your hair naturally clean and manageable. The smell of the vinegar won’t last - don’t worry.

The key to success is rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse - did I say ‘rinse’????

The powerful healing properties of comfrey, lavender and calendula are combined in an olive oil infusion that can be used for a variety of skin issues. This salve can be used for just about anything to do with the skin: burns, bruises, scars, dry or chapped skin & lips, cuts, scrapes, wounds, gashes, insect bites, irritations, eczema, bed & pressure sores, fungal infections, etc.

This product also works well on animal wounds - it has no ill effect if they lick it off. We use it on hot spots on our dogs with wonderful results.

Comfrey and comfrey root has been used from very ancient times, and is one of nature's greatest healers. Used for arthritis, it soothes and heals inflamed tissues, and it helps reduce swelling and pain in a most remarkable way. It also helps to heal wounds, burns, and broken bones.

The wound healing properties of lavender make it an excellent application in all cases of external injuries, while the antiseptic properties disinfect the area.
Lavender is also soothing when applied to insect bites and stings relieving the itch and soothing the inflammation.

The dried petals of the calendula plant are used in tinctures, ointments, and washes to speed the healing of burns, bruises, and cuts, as well as the minor infections they cause. It has immune stimulant properties as well as an estrogenic effect.

WARNING: Because Comfrey tends to knit a wound together so quickly, do not consider using it on a wound that is so deep that healing the top surface will prevent the under layers from healing properly. Also do not ever use Comfrey unless you are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT THE WOUND IS STERILE, WITH NO HINT OF FESTERING, PUS, OR INFECTION EXISTING, because you do not want Comfrey to heal the surface of the wound over an existing infection.
