Large Globe drawing is screen printed in lime green ink over a waterbased yellow ink, creating a soft feeling print.
The Yellow ink is transparent and took on the shirts bright emerald color, turning a dark green.

Arlo says this is his new favorite shirt for the spring season.

I freehanded this drawing with an xacto knife using rubylith film. Each little net hole and rope line was cut out slowly one by one. From the finished stencil it was then burned onto a screen, then soberly and slowly hand printed by us.

This is for a UNISEX/MENS size small.

I think we're going to change up the teal print color to a darker ink, but if you absolutely LOVE this color combo, give us a shout because we do have girls sizes Small through Large and Unisex Small - LArge available in orchid that we could print this teal color on before we switch.

This Unisex small was a testprint. I like it, so does Arlo but we both think it would look sharper darker.

This is our two color drawing turned screen print of the big metal sign located on top of the "Hill Castle Apartment Hotel", in Oakland California. I love Oakland, and lived there for many years during college. I also love metal signs with huge looming letters and the scaffolding and supports that hold them up. It's interesting because this is one of my most favorite designs i've made, but not many people have bought it. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Slow Loris shirts is 10 years old, (i know, i know, we've mentioned this before.) So far we've been celebrating by reprinting some of our old designs. Here we have put our very first designs from the late 90's all together into one big print.

Okay, let's see what we got here...

1. a bicycle drawing from 1998, (originally drawn for old town cycle t-shirts, in Bellingham, Wa.)

2. a cassette tape (the very first printing of this drawing was in 1998. It was a two color print and was centered inside of a circle.) Later it became part of a larger cassette pattern that was printed on tote bags, 1999)

3. a corkscrewwwww (because we're wine lovers! 1999)

4. a boom box, (1999) i've had this same boom box since high school, and it's still in use when we're not cranking the ipod. The only problem is one of the detachable speakers is filled with dog food from a mouse who resided in one of my old barn studios. It makes an unfortunate rattling sound if music is too loud.

5. the Gauntlet video game, (this was drawn while hanging out with my good buddy Alex, at now long since closed down, Rudy's Arcade that was located on state street in Bellingham. 1999)

6. a lucky horseshoe (2001)

7. my 16mm movie projector (a tribute to all the movies i use to play in my backyard when i first moved to Guemes.)

8. and lastly, a "slow loris was here" bathroom wall-scrawl added for major authenticity.

All of these drawings are printed in black ink on heather gray American Apparel track t-shirts.

While walking along the beach the other day looking for agates, I found a small broken piece of pottery. The cracking lines that covered it really reminded me of looking down at farmlands from an airplane window. I went home and enlarged it 700% on my copy machine. It's an old copier that gives all my designs a dirty inky look that I love. After cutting it into the shape i wanted, I then added a river running across the bottom of the farmlands.
Here is the end result.

This is a drawing from 2001 that i drew while sitting on the floor of a friends old recording studio, here in Anacortes, Washington. He makes music you can still hear all over this small fishing town. I'm almost positive i was drinking wine that night, in fact, that's my bottle sitting on the top shelf there.

I pulled this drawing out the other day removed some parts and then added some new...a stack of records, a record player, another set of headphones, a couple more microphones, a can of pepsi and a few more knobs and a speaker. Now it is finally complete, 7 years later.

These shirts are what we pull a screen print on before starting a long print run. This way we can make sure the image is printing clearly. If something isn't right, meaning, we don't like the color combo, or the placement isn't just perfect, the shirt is thrown into the testprint bin, and used to test other prints as well. It's a beautiful story with a sweet sweet ending. Every shirt will have multiple prints all over it, sometimes on the inside as well. Photos of print locations will be shown in each listing.

This is our two color drawing turned screen print of the big metal sign located on top of the "Hill Castle Apartment Hotel", in Oakland California. I love Oakland, and lived there for many years during college. I also love metal signs with huge looming letters and the scaffolding and supports that hold them up. It's interesting because this is one of my most favorite designs i've made, but not many people have bought it. It's a few years old now too, (4? 5 maybe?) & i'm still waiting for the day for you guys to love it as much as me. And look- one more tidbit, it's four nouns in a row!
