This is a partial set of craft idea and instruction cards from an old subscription service. There is no indication of a publisher or a year, but it's clearly a 1970s item. I've found that I haven't used this set in the couple of years that I've had it, as I prefer to use my other vintage books for ideas. I thought I'd make it available for another lover of vintage items who might enjoy hunting down the rest of the cards in the series. There is some wear, such as partial scratching off of the lettering on the box, and there is some tape residue that I was unable to remove. If you're as inspired by 1970s aesthetics as I am, you should enjoy looking through this set. Sorry for the high shipping cost, it's for Parcel Post and that's the lowest I can get it.

Forever Mackerel Skies

There's something special to me, almost heavenly or spiritual, about a "mackerel" sky, which is the colloquial term for a sky covered in altocumulus clouds. One evening, I enjoyed a particularly good specimen here in Tucson and snapped as many pictures as I could to capture this magical sight. I thought that the minimal palm and pinon trees on the horizon added to the sense of vastness. I gave this shot a simulated cross-processed effect to enhance it a bit. Available as a 4x5 ($13) or 8x10 ($16) and professionally printed on metallic paper.

A particularly striking building in downtown Florence, Arizona, that for me typifies my idealistic visions of Southwestern town life. I'm a native New Englander who's only lived in Arizona since 2006 and even while living in the reality of Tucson city life, I still daydream about the ideals of a quiet life in the desert. Photo was shot in color and given a simulated cross-processed effect in a computer program. Professionally printed on long-lasting Kodak Endura Metallic Paper to make the colors really "pop" and available as an 8x10.
