Do you understand the power of color in affecting the viewer's feelings on a piece of art? Throughout art history, artists have used color to convey and heighten the emotional content of a painting. In the early twentieth century, artists began to focus on color as a direct translation of their feelings.

This is a work studying the affect of warm vs. cool colors. I have intentionally left the girl expressionless because I don't want to influence your feelings. Focus more on the shapes and colors.

This is an original acrylic painting on card stock and heavily protected with matte varnish. It is a normal piece of paper, but cut in half, one for each color scheme.

This is easily framed and inexpensively shipped.

This is an original acrylic/mixed media painting on piece of solid red oak.

I conditioned and then stained the wood with a Red Mahogany color. I painted the crying girl in acrylic paint. There are four small swarovski crystals in the corners of her glasses. The painting was then covered with four coats of two different matte varnishes for extra protection. Due to the natural grain in the wood, there are places on the face and body where the texture shows through. I think that this adds to the painting.

Again, this is a solid piece of wood and is heavy, weighing about 8-10 lbs. You can hang it, or lean it up against a wall on a shelf, countertop, or table. You decide!

The dimensions are:
